Re: Please don't reduce muzzle flash!!!

Am i playing a different game or something? Only muzzle flash issues i've ever had is with the L-Star, which is horrendously bright due to the sheer size of the rounds being fired.

I regularly run iron sights AND sights and i've never experienced what apparently is a "game changing issue".  :S

    Numerous people have suggested it might not be as severe an issue on consoles.
    This is what we deal with on PC.

    Ok, I was going to post a certain way on this topic, but the video you provided has brought some clarity.

    Im on Xbox and there is simply no weapon that has the extreme muzzle flash that’s depicted in your video.

    This must be a PC issue.

    @EA_Blueberry ?

  • @Gidoru  What i find even stranger is in that video as an example, the second volley of shots he fires towards the videos end has none of the high muzzle flash he suffers during the first.

    Frame rate issue maybe? Idk. >.<

    With a controller you have aim assist so you might not notice muzzle flash impacting on your gameplay when compared to PC since it helps land those shots with you ADS. Most of the feedback and videos we're seeing around extreme muzzle flash do come from the R-99 though.

    I think it has to do with the graphics card.

    I play on console and do not have this problem.

    Heck, I didnt even notice muzzle flash until these guys mentioned it.

    I am going to post some of my game play videos of muzzle flash.

    It is barely visible on ps4.

    One of the reasons its so bad in this video is because if you notice the person is in the shadows. On certain parts of the map, particularly darker indoor areas or in areas with shadows muzzle flash is significantly worse than it is in well lit areas of the map.
    In these darker areas not only is your muzzle flash more obtrusive but often your enemies muzzle flash also starts obscuring your vision. In these situations you literally see nothing.

    Id also like to point out that in that video the player is scoring hits on the enemy and keeps shooting the spot where he gets gets hits for a second and its only when he stops shooting that he notices the enemiy has moved and is a solid 2 inches away from where he shooting. This is how bad it is on PC. You literally cannot see your enemy at all. In a situation like this there is no such thing as 'educated guessing', the player made the best guess that he could, that being that the enemy was where he got scored his previous hits. When muzzle flash like this blocks such a significant portion of your screen NO AMOUNT OF SKILL can compensate for this because you're shooting blind.
