Re: Ranked? Why am I going up against Diamonds and Predators in Platinum 4?

I believe they designed the ranking system based on having only a few at the top (about 500 players) so that Apex Legends can have a respected reputation as a competetive game within the e-sports scene which EA is pushing widely.

They achieve this by having the point system increasingly penalizing.

I think the lower brackets are too easy to rank up so the result is that "everyone" pool up in platinum and diamond.

This system becomes very vulnerable to cheaters because it is easily inflated.

Lets say you have 0,05% cheaters and 1 million players, thats 500 players and basically the whole playerbase of the upper ranks.

These players can hold highly organized skilled teams down having them pool up with casuals in lower brackets, so you end up with a bad mix of players where they normally would expect a slower progression ranking up, now experience a full stop in progression.

@JOTUNFALK In fact, everything was good until the last event. (bloodhound event). I played in ranked before the event and everything was normal. The very first day of the event - diamonds in gold lobbies and predators in platinum lobbies.
