Re: Skins purchasable for basic currency is a bit of a scam imo
I'm with you on this. I said early on it was a massive money grab when it comes to the store. Locking legend token skins behind skins you can only get from lootboxes/crafting materials which, unless you're super lucky and get every legendary skin for every gun in your free 45 Apex Packs from levels 1-100 you'll eventually have to drop money to unlock to obtain either the skin or enough crafting metals to buy the skin.
Legend tokens are USELESS. I am sitting on 76800 legend tokens and I can't do a damn thing with them. They didn't give thier economy enough thought. They gave us a currency that is practically useless if you already own the legends you can buy with them and then lock skins you can buy with them behind legendary skins that the average player will likely have to drop money for a CHANCE at getting. It's the biggest negative I have about this game.
I love playing it, I have fun playing matches and got myself up to 100+ now but the pure greed of the store is just insane. Some people don't think greed has anything to do with it so let us do a little math here ok?
It's £7.99 for the minimum amount of Apex Coins but for sake of ease we'll round it up to a solid £8. Got it? good 50 Million players (at last report) have at least tried Apex and there was 2 million concurrent players at its peak. So let's say at least 1 million of those 2 million concurrent peak players purchased at the very least the minimum amount of coins just once.
8x1mil= 8mil. SImple, that's a cool 8mil with a very small percentage of the playerbase purchasing the minimum amount of coins JUST ONCE.
Let's kick it up a notch though shall we and asume that atleast one quarter of the 50mil players had purchased the minimum amount of coins JUST ONCE. So that's 12.5 mil players at £8 per player that's a solid 100mil. Did you read that? ONE-HUNDRED MILLION and in all honety this is me lowballing the numbers and assuming a low percentage of players actually dropped money on the minimum amount of coins in the game.
This isn't even counting the money from the starters pack and founders pack, this is just apex coins. My point here is if anybody believes the way they set the store up is anything other than pure greed, you're dead wrong and you know what? It might not even be Respawn's fault, it's probably EA because I mean...it's EA but still, it's a crappy way to treat the loyal playerbase.
People should drop money to support the devlopers of the game, no doubt about it but they need to give us shows of good faith while we do. Give legend tokens some meaning.
