Re: The game is too slow

@Zulkiers I never said 30 seconds. My inventory is near full until final circle, so i dont have problems with looting. Tanks have a perk that lets them find the next ring early so i dont know how you dont have time to fortify. Also you can't both search for loot and camp. The game is about forcing rotations through ring changes no matter someones play style. Setting up defense util takes seconds in fps games and the game lets you pick them up, this isn't clash royale lol

@BETELX6 Have you ever tried to setup as watson? To do it in seconds requires her pylon, even then it takes a minimum of 15 seconds.
You can't pickup her pylon. And it takes a long time to recharge.
The way it works now, I can't place 4 fences before we have to move. When you setup you're supposed to be able to sit for a few minutes and wait for prey, if any ever show up.
How it is now, you NEVER get to set up unless you're magically in the next next ring before the ring begins moving.
And, it feels like there are half as many ring consoles as there used to be. I can never use a ring console anymore.
Like when I use Fuse, I've quit taking his console perk because there's never any consoles to use once I take it. There might be 1 in the ring, not like it'll help much. Of course, his alternate perk isn't very useful half the time, because I don't ult myself. I avoid walking through the fire. Not like I ever hit anyone with it anyways. Most useless ultimate imo. Everyone somehow leaps over it like a stag, always avoiding damage. And no one is ever marked by it, even when they are dead center. The only time anyone gets marked is if they move slow and don't look around very fast, aka rookies. Why it's not marking the others I cannot fathom. It's supposed to.
    But anywho...
Rampart. Place 3 barricades, immediately pick them back up because you have to move. Can't even use them.
Caustic. Sometimes useful for determining if someone was ring-walking after you left, but normally never hits anything with his util. Most useless legend. Save the Ult, which deals 3 ticks and then they seem to be immune to it somehow. They keep popping in and out of the gas not taking any damage from it, pelting you each time they come in, and you don't see nox vision on them, even though clearly they are in the gas with you.
Catalyst: The most useful of them all, but IMO she's not truly a controller. Sure she can rebuild doors and cast spikes, but she doesn't have enough. If she could fortify 5+ doors and cast 3+ spikes, then she'd be more like a controller. 2 doors and 2 spikes isn't a controller, it's just utility. IMO. Honestly she feels more assault-like to me.
And her ult isn't controller material. Of course, Caustic's isn't either, but still.

I played Waston. The fences are as easy as double-clicking your mouse and the game gives Waston the ability to stack ultimate accelerants and they instantly charge her ult. I used a ring console a game ago, and 2 the next because i just land and go to places where they're at because they're marked on the map, just like what i do when i play survey beacon and supply bin characters. Defense characters are to control areas by punishing people who try to enter them, not trapping them like rats. Playing Waston is picking up and setting up as many fences as fast as you can, and the pickup range is amazing for it. Caustics ult literally gives you a gigantic gas cloud to control space and his traps do it also. Catalyst could have more util but controlling what entryways enemies are allowed to go is still useful and her wall punishes people who go through it.

@BETELX6 I've slaughtered Catalysts after pushing through their wall. It's not a punish. It's blinding, as I only have my cursor, but it's doable.

The last 4 games I played there were no more than 5 ring consoles on Storm point. One central, the only one available most of the time. One NW. One SW. One NE. One SE. Like an X. And of course you have the last 5 teams sitting on it and the other 2-3 locales in the rings. Can't use the beacon because other teams control the area by the time you get there. The hot droppers. I never hotdrop. Hotdrop guarantees my squad among the dead before the first ring moves. Just like the other 2/3ds of the squads.
Seriously. There's only 15 people left by the time the first ring closes, all because everyone lands in the same 3 spots.
Hence I edge drop most of the time.
Hence I have to run from the ring if RNG failed me. One time I landed on crashed ship, and sat on crashed ship, I was NewCastle. We held them off and I got krabered in the face and revived, and the final squad couldn't get up to us. They got crispied by final ring, we won. That one was actually funny.
Another was broken moon a long long time ago. We landed at backup atmo. Final ring closed on that town right beside it. The other 4 squads got stuck in the C on the other side of the mountain. We thought we'd have someone to shoot. Nope, the last 4 squads got crispied. Went from 5 squads left to champions roughly 20-30 seconds after that ring started closing. We were a full premade I think. I was Rampart that time. Had a full setup, couldn't even use it. The one time I actually had plenty of time to setup. That was around Season 14/15. A started in the last two weeks of season 14, Vantage's launch season.

@Zulkiers Ok, I've had more setups since then, but it takes at least 30 seconds to get a good setup. To actually FEEL setup you have to be ready on your setup for a good minute. These current rings don't allow me that. Everything feels like it's duct-taped together. It's not a good feeling.
To feel setup, you must align angles, read the angles and measure them. Roughly. You must meticulously place your objects, which can take up to 5 seconds if you're fast, or 15 seconds if you can't get just the right spot.
Then you must read the setup's angles, determine its vulnerabilities, and prepare for such.
As Rampart, once you setup a fortification setup, you must read its angles and sighlines. How much area can you see from behind your amp? Should you move it forward? Back? Adjust its angle?
Ultimates (Pylon and Turret) are harder.
Turret insanely harder than it used to be since now you can only have one instead of 3.
Speaking of, my broken moon setup had 5 barricades and 3 turrets, and we were on a rooftop. I had a Sentinel and was so hoping to use it. I think I had a sniper quest at the time too so I was very disappointed I couldn't shoot anyone.

Above you can see that match.

Actually, I don't recall backup atmo at that time. Perhaps the old map is right. It really was a long time ago. I was missing half the legends.

    But, the setup felt great!
The only downside is no one got in our crosshairs, all getting trapped on the other side of the mountain.

Back to #33. The current rings don't allow me to check all my angles. I can't get a proper setup. Except when I'm magically in the ring.
The last time I was NewCastle at crashed ship.
Normally it tends to end up as the enemy gets crispy, because we controlled a spot and the others all got trapped somewhere, whether by their bad judgement (my match as rampart) or we held them back and prevented them from gaining ground (NewCastle match).

My setup on that match as Rampart

Black and grey lines are my 5 barricades. 3 red dots are my turrets. This setup had full coverage from that rooftop. One of my first times playing Rampart. Won by the others getting crispied by the ring at the stasis array side of the mountain.

I'm sad I can no longer have my 3 turrets anymore.
