I just think its honestly because its the holiday season.
Season 4 would have been expected to start very early January, following the trend of when seasons start, but the devs are likely to not be around because they’re celebrating the holidays with their families. Its very common for games to get no updates over the holiday period for this very reason.
Also, i think the fact its the holiday season and most people are busy with family etc. and not playing games, people may not have as much free time to play like they usually do due to those commitments. Giving an extra month just allows people to spend time with their family and not have to worry about the season ending. Last thing you want is players stressing on xmas because the new season starts in a week but they dont have the time to play because its christmas.
