Re: To Help Identify Smurfs

Thanks for the feed back fellas - I am not so naïve to not understand that the more and more accounts that are made helps Respawn with stake holders etc and looks good on paper, nor that I don't understand that Respawn banning players that spend money is taking away from their own pockets. 

I do not play ranked, really ever. Only have a few times since beta launch. I am purely talking about Pubs. The amount of smurfing in pubs is crazy, crazy! 

I wasn't the one that added the "smurf" report function. I assume that its their to make people feel better as if maybe something might be getting done. But one could still hope that maybe, just maybe smurfs stomping through pubs would get addressed with a report Respawn put in game to use.

I understand that after so long of that, they would be placed accordingly. Yet - I know many people with over 30 different smurf accounts. Here is how a few of the people I know explain it - one has 10 accounts, he plays on one for a week and stops. Plays the next for a week and stops, and continues down the line until he as reached the 10th, and done a week on that. When he rotates back to account # 1 it has been 10 weeks since he has logged onto that account and the MM realizes this account hasn't been used for a long period of time and he easily sees the difference in his matches as he says they are easier. By about the end of the week the account is back to tough lobbies. Then onto # 2, also over two months since log in and the same - and on and on, you get the point. 

I have seen many posts of people stating they have friends with unlimited amount of Apex legends accounts. Now maybe in ranked they get placed quickly, pubs sure doesn't feel that way. 

My suggestion although wouldn't be the "be all end all" to the problem, but it certainly can't make things any worse. 

Smurf accounts have no business in pubs period. I can understand ranked and using a smurf account for the "grind" - I don't think that's right either but I can understand it and except it - more because I have no choice. If the Dev's feel its fine, well... not much one can do about that but accept it and move on. 

dsKyNafinchin - You don't show anything that's fine, you do you. However with the MM being as messed up as it is, I can see someone who is low level, very low KD in your lobby and spectates you and just assumes you are a smurf account and reports you, thinking - "Well this guy is way to good to be in my lobby." Now, if he saw your account level at say prestige 140, this person knows without a doubt know you are not a smurf account and have been playing along time. Hence he won't report. He would only be left with thoughts of "What is this guy doing in my lobby?" - bad MM. 

If the report function is not there just for looks and someone (ban hammer) is and does actually through all these, think of the wasted time due to false reports. I am simply thinking of a way that would help lower that and get some real smurfs stomping in pubs actually banned. 

I think I am dreaming here, but It is hard to take session after session after session ..... in pubs.
