Please excuse me here as I am going to make a big assumption. I really thought that the point of BR ranked or pubs for that matter is to win, you know be the last man standing. How one gets there is there choice of play-style.

If you can run and gun it from hot drop and taking on every fight to win, then good for you.

If you play hid and seek getting in pot shots and kills here and there, disengaging to continue to survive and win then also good to go.

If you play safe to limit RP loss and maximize RP gain, using rotation and positioning to make it to the last ring and get the final kills, then again good for you.

Like I said the point of the game is not really to hot drop get 4-5 kills in 3-5 mins wash rinse and repeat, even though it is very fun at times. The greater skill and satisfaction is actually winning the game and how one gets there is their choice.

I have to disagree that the current RP system is catering to new players but rather rewarding players for playing strategically, working with their team and just outright out thinking the the lobby.

Also the BEST players consistently place top 5 with 3-6 KP in order to maximize RP gains, minimize RP loss and level up.

Im not certain when communication became this difficult and when it is that weve started to insert rhetorical communication into everything; its not difficult and its not a mark of sophistication to pretend to misunderstand the main point of a message, make an obvious observation - make it seem as if its not understood - and then disagree with some ancillary assumption,
    - if youre quick to react (raise the gun) and have good aim, and are consistently so - more so than everyone else; you have an advantage over everyone and will win in most close encounters.
    - this is one skill that gives advantage of several but, it is the skill that gives you most advantage as you can learn to avail yourself of high ground, and the amount of people in a room, and the fact that map becomes smaller, makes close encounter impossible to avoid.
    - because everyone looks to third party (because that is smart and part of
the fun) and because everyone has to engage at close quarters eventually; any advantage here, is simply premium by consequence of the game dynamic.
all that aside, the crux of what im saying is that if the players that win close encounters more often than not, are no longer given incentive to challenge themselves and 'hot drop' (close encounter against several squads and lesser chance your team will survive all the other squads), then you will get what you are starting to see which is predators and diamonds winning the round consistently - where as before, it was probably true that if im really good and am fairly confident i can take maybe 2 or 3 squads out, but am not certain of it, but am rewarded for taking out 2 instead of all 3 then im less likely to play selectively and only enter into fights i know I will win, as is now the case.
If youre good, at the more essential skill of the game, then you are more likely to take risks to challenge yourself and not be bored by the game. I
If your reactin time and aim is not the best (or you simply get nervous in the hodge podges) then it behooves you to cultivate all other skills the game allows and you can only really do this against players that are similarly skilled or only slightly better than you. This is to say you cultivate positioning, and timing to have a chance against predators but you have to have practice with people that makes it possible for you to struggle (because they are struggling themselves) and improve and possibly win on occasion.
You cultivate technique in say, wrestling or boxing, to have a chance against somebody that has natural advantage (reach, size, strength);but, you practice with people with slight advantages in these areas before you take on Broc Lesnar. You give lesnar several sparring partners, who are going to hate their lives while they do so, to give him a challenge, and you let every one practice against each other so that when its their turn to be Lesnar's partner, maybe they can give him a run for his money on occasion.

Great conversation and I do like they way you argue and stand by your point.

The new changes to RP in ranked BR in my opinion are actually pretty good (I know we disagree on this point, so be it). I really do not think that the changes were implemented to make it easier for lower skilled (gun skills) players at all but rather to reward those that are striving to make it into the top 5 and hopefully get the win. The point of the BR is to win not necessarily get kills. In BR ranked securing early RP and using positioning, game sense and rotational skills to get you and your team into position to possibly win the game are skills that are also as important as CQC skills.

I know the CQC skills are a very integral part of the game and without them, it will make it difficult. These skills are rewarded with KP but in order to maximize that rotational and positional skills must be also not left to the wayside and are also rewarded in the late game.

I have won many a game without having to go CQC in the last two rings. Well placed Marks-Mann/Sniper shots coupled with use of a few good ULT's can win you the game at mid to long range.

I really enjoyed your conversation so far and I see we do agree on many points.

    Have fun in the Outlands.
