@bakerw71 The penalty is needed. People want to play with teammates. Not go solo 3v1 or 2v1. I can mute pings and coms from randoms. So they have no way to show me they are toxic. Leaving 2 people or 1 person behind imo is toxic. Its a team based game not a ohh i dont like this team im out game. That is the very reason the penalty was added. To stop people from leaving their teammates. Which has more issues and complaints then the penalty.
I mean they can remove the penalty and just refill between rounds if someone leaves.
It's poor design the way it is currently.

If you are solo queuing you won't need to babysit, it's a good idea, people would just leave round 1 if their teammates had a bad round, it would be ridiculous, every second round would be either afk or you vs a squad, if people are toxic just mute them, as for babysitting... are you pro ??, then be quiet, you aren't a god, just a player who can play Apex.
i dont see a point for a penalty since people still leave, why do you even want a penalty for a non-ranked mode in a free2play game that almost always only go 3 rounds to win?
the mode personally frustrates me and i just want to finish the challenges, the mode itself is too boring csgo-clone-ish for me to care or enjoy it, and im sure those who leave mid games feel the same about it.
Why do you need a penalty in a non ranked game mode? Its not like you have anything to lose. If they leave then you leave and find a better team. I was just stuck in a match with a complete tool that kept running his mouth then muted the guy he was fusing at. The mode sucks and people are being forced to play it for events and quests. All the maps are horrible and show laziness on the devs part. The matchmaking is down right garbage. Once they release the ranked mode they need to remove leave penalty from regular mode. Im assuming the people who want leave penalties are solo players.
People can be toxic in many ways. I had a full team of 3 in arenas earlier and one teammate spent the entire game trying to ruin it for me and the other teammate actually trying. He was destroying our rampart walls as we put them up not shooting at the enemies. Would pretend to revive us and then stop at the last second. Because of the abandon penalty we had to deal with this teammate for 6 rounds. And that’s not fair
The only thing that is really needed is fixing this absolut braindead matchmaking. Oh he made 1 kill he must be a master or diamont player. Serouisly i'm done for, 1800hr of this BS, getting my * tap stafed and superglided on(legal movementcheats for mnk takes not even efford on steam with makros). I'm done, i'm just a disabled gamer with average skill, why do i have to ge budfucked 15 rounds just to get 1 mercy game that even does not feels satisfying anymore.
They can still cause you to die not revive/respawn you take loot etc so no they can still be toxic *
I think the penalty should stay. You don't lose anything for leaving and are basically just getting a slap on the wrist as it is.
It's hardly enough to deter a hole teammates from ditching as soon as they're down as is. I for one am sick and tired of getting stuck with players who want to do nothing but hot drop then leave the moment they are down or the ones who want to troll and leave as soon as you grab their banner.
Punish them more honestly. Because the penalty really isn't enough.
