Aim assist provides:
- Extremely powerful tracking
- Reduced/removed recoil
- Tracking through smoke
- In some instances of using it, tracking through walls/doors.
What I experienced in short testing:
- Aim Snap, used with a shotgun I was almost unable to miss
- Strong Tracking, with ability to easily get headshots due to not having to spend time tracking, only adjusting inside the tracking.
- Able to aim down sights through smoke and track enemies, and fire blindly landing a good majority of my shots.
- Sniper aim assist, I had trouble with this, but I did experience tracking, I just wasn't used to a controller.
Aim assist shouldn't exist at all, but it seriously shouldn't exist on PC.
@4ccbf460f7b926b1 Extremely powerful tracking? Seriously? Aim assist must be insane on PC since its nothing like that on consoles.
Aim assist is necessary due to how difficult it can be to track a moving target with a controller but I don't see a reason for controllers to exist on PC.
Rip out aim assist on PC and let controller users go back to consoles, play with the handicap, or learn M/K like everyone else.
- 6 years ago@Zamaha400 I agree. If console wants to keep it, I'm all for it. But on PC its weird to put a built-in aimbot against keyboard/mouse users. Especially when recoil is all but removed with controller/aim assist, compared to keyboard/mouse.

Can you see that? Look at picture please.
Aim Assist is unfair on PC.

Even if that seemed fishy it doesn't prove anything. The 301 is essentially a Lazer, and it looks like he mostly hit with body or leg shots. Then he clipped you with 4 body shots from a flatline.
- 6 years ago@Zamaha400 Thats a childish answer to be sure. I like how PC players don't even understand that a PC is supposed to be the gaming system that does it all. That includes use a controller. Pc isn't supposed to be narrowed down to your childish understanding of it. The only handicap I'm picking up on here is betwixt your ears.

@Luxxtenebri Kind of amusing. A rebuttal that includes no reasonable argument while also being a personal attack that calls me childish.
Many in the PC group obviously have no understanding or concern for the needs of a controller user. Many view aim assist as a crutch for weak players not a necessary mechanic for dealing with aiming with joysticks.
Many from the console crowd are ignorant as to how strong aim assist is on PC. From the videos I've seen in these threads it's a whole different beast compared to what console has.
Is that a fair adjustment to compensate for the quickness and accuracy of a mouse? Dunno but it's a whole lot simpler if everyone in a lobby has the same input device so boot controllers from PC and M/K from consoles.

Sometimes you get beamed by a guy with a controller, sometimes its a guy with a mouse. I play on PC and couldn't care less. I've tried playing on console and using a controller is so damn painful I say give controller players a slight aid. It isn't so strong that it is turning bad players into gods, it tracks with a players skill level.
