I hear that Aim Assist on PC is much less than console, and honestly I wish they would reduce it on console to match PC, because its WAY too much.
Aim assist does NOT lock you on and keep you on your target allowing you to lazer. I play on very high sensitivity, and basically it just decelerates crosshair as you move left to right or right to left over a target, basically giving you an extra split second to let go of the right stick to lock onto target.
The PROBLEM with this is, it causes such a slow down and DRAG on the aim that when a person is strafing and moving, it actually makes it harder to track the target, because it slows down your sensitivity.
The range of motion and recoil control on a thumbstick is also so minimal compared to M&K range of motion. On keyboard you can flick way out to spin and adjust dpi to slow or increase sensitivity. Its also pretty try easy to strafe when you just have to tap two keys back and and forth. The combinations of using your left trigger to ads and left thumb for movement while the right thumb aims and the right trigger shoots. A little more complicated than a keyboard button layout.
Also, who are you watching bro? Cuz all the streamers I see who are one clipping are on PC Mouse and Keyboard, not controller.
As for recoil, aim assist doesn't do much. If you go into the firing range, aim assist will activate on the red dummies, and regardless of if you shoot a target or a dummy, you need to pull down against the recoil exactly the same amount.
@dodst1 I think needs to go get himself a controller and plug it in. Go to the range and realize for himself that he doesn't shoot better with a controller and aim assist than with his mouse and keyboard.
Cuz apparently he things that aim assist is some sort of "auto aim". If you set your crosshair a few inches to the side of a target, aim assist isn't just going to drag your crosshair over onto target. Its literally nothing but a reduction to sensitivity and a m&k player could literally do the same thing with a Key-bind used to lower dpi sensitivity and use it when shooting
@CocoaHyena I don't play on PC so I can't vouch for this but it seems like Aim Assist is much stronger on PC. I was shown a video comparing Aim Assist on Console vs PC. In the video he went into firing range with a friend and dragged his gun across his friend's body over and over. Then he centered his gun on his friend and strafed side to side. On Consoles there was no real noticeable movement but on PC it looked like his gun was glued to the target.
If the video wasn't bs then Aim Assist is MUCH stronger on PC than Consoles and I can see why the PC community is freaking out over this. Honestly I'm concerned about going up against PC controller users if the Aim Assist is that much stronger.
- 5 years ago@heme725 I've read that Aim Assist was markedly stronger on console than PC, I'll try to find the link, it was recent when the cross platform stuff was revealed

@heme725Yeah, i already post a similar video on reddit, https://www.reddit.com/r/apexlegends/comments/haf32f/when_they_tell_you_aim_assist_isnt_that_strong_on/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share
As you can see in my Video: AIM assist has 0ms reaction to enemies movement against mouse and keyboard players that only have their human reactions 140-240ms, if you're on M/K you need to predict movement, even if you're a top 500 player, you will miss that mov prediction very often, and you will miss 30-40% of your magazine, with controller aim assist you don't need to predict movement, aim assist locks on people and autotrack enemies with 0ms reaction, most controller players will one clip you only because of that, that's why every single pro m/k player is complaining about it, as humans you can't compete against a built in software that do things instantly with 0ms delay.
I'll be happy if they change aim assist behavior, only a slightly slowdown, while aiming on enemies, but that autotracking feature needs to go, is unfair and it's already bad that players are winning money on Tourneys only because of that.Pd: I'm not saying controller players are bad, for sure there're good players and that's the problem, give that aim assist to a good player and that will give him a huge advantage over similar skilled players on M/K.

This is kind of a dead thread, but in case anyone was wondering still...as a life long console player who switched to PC about 8 months ago, the aim assist is much much stronger on console. I don't care what anyone thinks, I know from firsthand experience. Lastly, if controller is so OP, switch. My friend plays both and he thinks MNK is easier to aim mid range to long range. Close range is obviously better on controller. But thats what you get for playing on 1 million sensitivity. Of course you can't hit anything close. ImperialHal has no prob hitting people up close, so maybe you just suck
