Apex Why? hy Duels?

I don’t know if I’m the only one who feels this way, but ever since the new Apex Duels mode came out, I’ve been dealing with a racing heart and serious frustration. I honestly don’t know who came up with this new Duels idea, but it’s incredibly stressful and not fun at all. I used to love the original Arenas. I was never really into Battle Royale, and the Mixtape mode doesn’t hold my attention for long either.

Arenas was the one mode that always made me happy, no matter if I won or lost. I don’t understand why it couldn’t just stay in the game for those of us who truly enjoyed it. Bring back maps like Party Crasher and the other two OG maps that would give us six maps total for Arenas and a lot of variety to keep things fresh.

I even convinced two of my friends to start playing Apex again because we all loved the 3v3 format. Unfortunately, I bought the Battle Pass right before finding out that Arenas was gone and now I really regret that purchase. We’ve decided we won’t be playing Apex again until Arenas is brought back. It was the only mode that gave casual players like us consistent, enjoyable matches. And now the dev team has taken that away.

I’m honestly really disappointed in the direction Apex is going.

  • Duels is incomprehensible to me. I guess using it as an aim trainer is one thing, but as a form of actual gameplay it has to be one of the worst ideas they've come up with in a long time. You can't choose your legend or your weapons and the two of you spawn on either side of the same rock and the circle makes the map roughly the size of a postage stamp. Are they trying to test peoples' aim or their patience? Or the quality of their internet connection? Or how recently they took their Ritalin? Or whether their aimbot subscription is paid up? I just absolutely do not get it. At all.
