I understand why target compensation is needed on pc. It helps against m&k. After messing around in the firing range today with target compensation off I began wondering why it's needed on consoles if everybody has a controller? Last week I was in pubs and landed with a predator. It turned out to be fierce battle but in the end me, a gold rank, beamed him and got hyped. But today I began wondering if TC wasn't in the game would I have won against him? Would he even be a predator because he leaned on it to rank up? I think removing it would reveal who is really good and who is trash. If you miss your shots you get punished. No more getting beamed by people just starting the game.

Ive heard a lot of PC players that have played console too say the aim assist isnt even noticeable, its not that much of an assist.

@BamBaCitA as a console player. It is very noticeable. When you turn it off. It's more difficult to stay on target. Takes more skill. To me, aim assist is a crutch that seems balanced because everyone is using it. It makes it to where anyone can shoot like a pro.

@Blasian311Nope. That’s a stupid idea to remove aim assist on console. Have you noticed all the people who just get toxic after they get killed by a level 1 player and go chew that player out on messages. Even though I’m not a level 1 player (level 192 is my level) I still get chewed out because I was “cheating” that “I should’ve died” and that “I was camping” even though I was healing. I feel like people who are actually good at the game should show more respect to more “default” players.

@Blasian311 Still, aim assist isn’t even noticeable. I was playing and it felt like there was none at all. So stop arguing about aim assist and move on. Aim Assist will stay as long as shooters live.

@Blasian311 I think you came to the wrong conclusion on why aim assist is needed. It can't exist on consoles to compensate against M/K since that isn't even allowed there and I doubt it exists to give weaker players a chance against stronger players. I'm guessing aim assist is there to compensate for the controller's natural flaws in a shooter. Precision aiming with thumb sticks is unreasonable. My experience has been that snapping onto targets without aim assist is tougher but not that much. Staying on target is difficult and grows towards impossible the further your target is away from you. After you consider the way that players/characters move in this game it would be impossible for console players to move and shoot accurately. The end result would be more camping and sniping rather than any meaningful skillful fight.

@Sylvester9991And I feel like they should earn it instead of aim assist but he'll with the removal of aim assist even top ranking players might turn a bit sour. So don't just look at the low skilled players. This will effect everyone. There might be players like myself who are rank gold and below who may very well be good shots but get lasered by a player with aim assist who would be trash without it.

@Blasian311 But, still. People will be toxic when they are. Removing aim assist would ruin the gameplay. Games like Cod and, can’t believe I’m about to say this, Fortnite has aim assist because of it. The reason it’s there is because of the recoil. The recoil is so bad in fact aim assist is needed. Plus, people who are “trash” can become good you know. Don’t go poking fingers and saying “It will tell who is trash and who is good” that means a whole other world of toxicity will happen.

@Sylvester9991 you can't expect to not have toxicity in a competitive game. I just want the game to be truly competitive. I never said people who are trash can't become good but as of now aim assist is helping people aim like they're good..a false sense of being good. I'll never agree with it bud.

Because they won't be able to compete with good players if they removed it. Don't forget companys make a lot of money from casuals and a lot of them use aim assist so its really needed.
