you still earn legend points after reaching level 100 so all they would need to do is add an option to buy apex packs with legend tokens. Just like every other game that has loot boxes.
Yeah I agree. Legend Tokens are pretty useless. I'm sitting on 31k tokens. I've got no problem with buying coins, I've got no problem in supporting the devs. I mean I bought bouth legends with coins because I enjoyed the game so much but locking things behind paywalls in a blatant play for money is well..pretty awful in all honesty.
Locking skins you can purchase with Legend Tokens behind skins you purchase with Coins is ridiculous. Giving us other stuff, whether it be Apex packs or skins to buy with our legend tokens would be perfect. Hell axe the whole "Crafting Metals" deal outright and just put a legend token price on everything and let us unlock things with legend tokens rather than crafting materials.
I never understood why devs don't understand the concept of "Good Will" as good will reaps its own rewards. People are much more inclined to spend money when they feel they don't have to.
- 7 years ago@ThatFawkzi devs understand it but investors dont care they want money, its nice this time they got to influence only store and not rest of the game, as for legends needed to be unlocked with grind, guess what LoL has it for years and they are still doing fine.
As for removing lvl cap, you guys are forgetting that they need to pay devs and servers because this game doesn't pop up from thin air like some magic *. Game is free you have limited premium content you get with unlimited play time, so whining that you want more is just plain greed from your side not ea.- 7 years ago
and that is where the disassociation occurs when your focus goes from making a good game to making money. which is also funny because you would make more money if you just kept focusing on making a good game. You should never cater to the investor that becomes a self destructive cycle a negative feed back loop because investors always want more.
as for paying the developers I am far more likely to purchase something in a game if I don't feel like I'm being forced to. It's not greedy for the consumer this model is absolutely greedy for EA as you get 45 free loot boxes x3 items per box that's 135 items and since you can get crafting materials in them you are likely to not even get 135 unique items as you will have gotten crafting materials likely multiple times. To put it in comparison each legend has 100 skins so currently 800 total so lets say you got lucky and got a legend skin every crate that's 135 skins. 800-135=665 so even if you got 3 skins in every crate you bought for $1 you would still need to spend $222 to get all the skins in the game 665/3 = 221.6 and thats just for legend skins thats not counting weapon skins or any other unlock-able feature in this game. it's actually pretty asinine.
- 7 years agoI know investors always want more, but this time it's not * like battlefront 2 which don't forget was b2p unlike this being f2p with huge amount of players potentialy not spending anything if you give them opportunity to grind it. I personally dont buy anything in games if i can earn it for free, for this game only battle pass when it comes out because i know lootboxes are waste of money.
Looking back at fortnite season 4 to 8 i bought 4 season passes for price of save the world because i was given the chance to grind it, now from investor perspective I'm literally a vulture, because he spends millions and i give him few bucks for hundreds of hours. If this game would be b2p i would expect same model as OW and ofc this model would be unacceptable.
