Another easy solution is to keep the animations, but double the speed, or at least add the option to cancel it by taking your gun out, that way it won't interfere as much with any potential fight.
I lost both my teammates today and their boxes were pretty much side by side it took a total of 6 seconds to pick them both up and wait for the animation to finish and have my weapon back in hand.
I was killed waiting for my weapon to come back to me.
It really needs to be changed. Too many times going for banner's is a death sentence.
