Map:

So far, I'm loving the new map. I haven't fully explored it, but wow, its amazing.

I've gotten more around the map, and its awesome. I love it!

Legend Changes:

I've only played a few matches so far, so the meta still feels the same. I'm sure given some more time my opinion would change. So far, no legend seems too broken and I haven't dealt with any "off the grid" Cryptos yet, (where he can go invisible while in his drone when having that perk selected).

I've been having fun using Crypto's "off the grid" perk.

Weapon Changes:

Its nice to have Akimbos and its something I'll have to learn how to shoot with. As for the new shield hop-up, I haven't fought with it yet, but I have fought against it in one fight so far. Its alright. Nothing to really say about it.

Weapon changes are still nice, but I'll most likely would use guns I'm used to.

Matchmaking:

It feels like its gotten better, however there are still players who maybe shouldn't be in my matches, at least not yet, and I've only played 1 bot royal match and 2 revival trios at this point.

I've played 4 more pubs matches, and the matchmaking feels a whole lot better, but there's a lot of cheaters flooding the matches.

I've played a few more matches, (6 -> 11), and the matchmaking is questionable at best. I was getting matches with high ranked players while my teammates were low level. A few matches of which, had the same pred player who had the top 50 pred badge from a prior season, (I don't know which season), the game made them both an enemy in one match and a teammate in the next.

When I fought against them, I thought they were a good player, but then when I had them as a teammate, they were dropping solo and squadwiping other players. When I ran up to help them, I saw that they were snapping to targets with aimbot and was shooting at others who were behind solid, (non-transparent) walls.

So overall, the matchmaking did get better, but its still being ruined by cheaters, (and smurfs). A lot of the players in the pubs matches are all high ranking players, although pubs doesn't have SBMM, so it does make sense.

Total matches played since last edit:

Battle Royal: 58
Ranked: 0
Bot Royal: 2
Mixtape: 0

Straight Shot Revival: 5

Straight Shot Revival:

I'm playing in the rumble mode and the first two matches were fun and had fair matchmaking. I was really enjoying the mode. Then the next several matches had a ton of cheaters who weren't bothering to hide their cheats. The rumble scoreboard also has a bunch of console players in the top 10, and it just looks like they were kill farming their friends as one has 90 kill points, (which I did the math), and it was 9 kills per match and they were averaging top 3 in the placement points and had 21k in damage points. By my 5th match, the last two teams were clearly teaming as they were together and only split up to kill my team from all sides. After my team had died, one of the teams just stood outside the ring.

The mode itself is fun, but there needs to be a better handle on the players who are cheating, teaming, and boosting.

Revival Trios:

I feel like this should be an LTM, but I think the main reason why we got it as the main mode, was to resolve players leaving in pubs when knocked. They still leave the matches when knocked, however not as much now.

Bot Royal:

I've played one match of bot royal and I can tell it needs some improvements.

When jumping into the match, the bots made me the jump master and then I had pinged a location. The first bot, (Octane) said "no" to the ping, and then the second bot (Seer) said "no". Both bots didn't pick up a single weapon until the respawning was disabled and they would do things like:

- Run into walls
- Walk up to me, stop, spin, turn around, and stop again
- Randomly ping "let's go here"
- Would automatically reply with "no" to any of my pings
- Would ignore whatever I'm doing, (which to a new player would be hard on them as the whole time I felt like I was a solos in a trios match)

The bots, (mainly Seer), would also stand out of the ring and before running in at the last minute, (which the ring had knocked them), and then they crawled to the edge of the ring only to sit on the edge of zone, taking zone damage when I had gotten within 10 meters of them for the revive.

Enemy bot players were also doing things like:

- Running into walls

- Running up to me to shoot me once before jumping onto a zipline to go up, only to jump back down, before the other bots on its team had jumped down to shoot at me

- Attempting to revive their bot teammates directly in front of me and other enemy bots, as if we didn't exist

- Aiming down sights at me, but sometimes they'll just stare at me

I get they're bots, but they could be a little bit smarter, or at the very least pick up weapons and not try to revive in front of players or enemy bots.

Legend Class Perks:

The changes to the legend class perks is quite interesting. I however, don't fully get the point in the scoutmaster perk. We have recon legends who can see legends glow like how they would in a Bloodhound ult, and everyone else seems to see a red outline.

Several more matches in, and I feel like the threat vision should be removed. I'm able to see players at most ranges, (especially when most of the enemy player is behind a wall, and only their head or foot sticks out). I also feel like the threat vision takes the fun out of the match and makes the game too easy.

HUD Elements:

I'm liking the health bar above enemy's heads. It makes it easier to know how low a player actually is and it helps clarify things when looking back at gameplay.

Several more matches into the game, and I have more thoughts on the health bars. I'm fine with it being active during Mixtape and pubs, but not for ranked. I haven't entered ranked yet, so I'm not sure if ranked has it enabled, but if it does, it shouldn't. (Same with the threat vision, ranked shouldn't have it either). Some players don't like the health bar, and I can understand that as it does take away a lot of skill from the game.

Bugs:

- In the bot royal match, I was playing as Valkyrie, and I somehow had the recon's scoutmaster perk, as every bot within 20 or so meters of me were full body red and it only occurred when I was aiming down sights. At first I thought I had gotten this perk because Seer was on my team, (similar to how we can craft banners if we have a support legend on the team), but in a normal match, I had a Crypto random, and the players I aimed down sights at only had a red outline, not a threat vision glow.

- In the gamemode select menu, I had a button that said "Experience Selector". Clicking on it did nothing at all, but it was acting like a clickable button, (changing color on hover and making the button clicked sound). This only appeared once and after checking the ranked rumble leaderboard results, it was gone.

@reconzero mentioned that also in Bot Royal, looting deathboxes was bugged, where items would disappear and reappear and not get added to their inventory when looted. I've had some looting issues myself in Bot Royal.

- Some have reported that in Bot Royal, you can't really scan care packages as the progress wheel would just reset several times.

- Like with Three Strikes, sometimes when respawning in Revival Trios, your display icon in the bottom left would still be red, (the "bleeding out" red).

- There are a few bugs with the Akimbos where they could be activated while using other weapons. I've saw a clip where a player was using Vantage's ULT, and it was shooting the Mozambique, but with the ULT's damage, range, projectile speed, and bullet drop off. (Basically the Akimbo Mozambique became a sniper). Other clips have shown players had it happen with guns like the Flatline and Peacekeeper as well, but it was glitched where it was shooting both guns at the same time, (Flatline/P2020 and Peacekeeper/P2020). Other legends, such as Wattson were also able to crash the server, (although this has been fixed now). https://x.com/Respawn/status/1821312460441448653

- Ranked matches were taking players into Ranked Rumble, (this has also been fixed). https://x.com/Respawn/status/1821667589812261007

- The infinite currency / grayed out tabs bug is back.

- I'm randomly getting kicked back to the main menu for "the anti-cheat isn't running", even though I can assure you, it is running.

- If one of your teammates are respawning in Revival and you force bleed out right when their respawn timer hits zero, your spectation would be put onto another squad. I accidentally did this, (I meant to bleed out before my teammate was respawning so I could respawn with them. The delay between when I bled out and when I got knocked was because I was hoping to get revived).

Anyways, I was able to spectate another team from the eyes of one of their teammates. The HUD only showed the healthbar of the person I was spectating, (not their teammate's), but when they were looking around, I saw their teammates were still alive.

As you can see in the image below, it says one of my teammates is respawning, with the top right saying when I'll respawn, and its none of the players of the team I'm spectating, as they're all still alive:

I didn't stay spectating the Conduit for long and luckily switching who I was spectating had put it back onto my team. (At first, I thought my team had died). Its still an issue being able to see another team and their positions. I'm guessing it would last as long as you have to wait until you respawn.

Other Issues:

- In my first match of revival trios, I ran into a console cheater. In the screenshot below, it shows that they have 19 kills and they're the kill leader. By the time I had left the match, they had 22 kills. Also in the screenshot, it shows that they have a tracker equipped that says they have 734,238 kills in Three Strikes. I know that mode has 3 lives per team and such, but that sounds too good to be legitimate, especially after seeing how they were moving.

Speaking of their movement, here's the clip of me trying to kill them after they had killed both of my teammates:

Right off the bat, we have three issues here:

1) They're moving while looting a deathbox, (even though they're on console). You can see that the Horizon had no shields while looking at the deathbox and then they suddenly had red bars above their health. This indicates the use of XIM, as that unfairly adds Mouse & Keyboard to consoles and it enables the ability to strafe while in a deathbox.

2) They did what looks like a wall jump off my teammate's deathbox. I usually see Octanes do this, (except the rapid change in direction was done in the air), however Horizon is on the ground and was moving side to side beforehand.

3) Its a little hard to tell, but their last few shots were missing me, and yet those shots were still being counted as damage dealt. (The incoming damage indicator also shows that the damage came from their direction).

If its hard to tell what's going on in the gif, here's it slowed down:

Overall, I am liking the new season and I would have to play more to give a more solid feedback, but for right now, I'd give the season 7/10 Nessies.

S21 Ranked Rumble:

I'll also mention that when I looked at the ranked rumble leaderboards, there are some cheaters/exploiters still displayed on the leaderboards, (and I'm guessing they were given the rewards for being in the top 10). One player has over 7,000 points, but when you add up the points from their points breakdown, they only have around 3,500 points.

I've had a few matches where there was a player who was in the top 10 of ranked rumble. At first I thought it was cool, then I got killed by them and confirmed the only reason why they got top 10 in ranked rumble, was because they were cheating. I've ran into 3 of the top 100's so far, and they were using aimbotting and wall hacks. Its a shame to know now that there was more cheaters in the top 10, even top 100 of the ranked rumble.

I hope that these cheaters get banned and that the players who rightfully deserved the rewards gets them instead. Allowing cheaters to still cheat, (especially after they made rumble pointless), makes the game not worth playing. What legit player would play rumble, if they know that they won't get the rewards they've earned?

The only way to make it a bit more fair is if players need to reach a certain amount of points to get the rewards.

For example:

Entry Badge - 0 Points

Holospray - 100 Points

Gun Skin 1 - 300 Points

Gun Skin 2 - 500 Points

Rank % Badge - 1000+ Points

What this would mean is that ALL players can earn the entry badge, holospray, and both gun skins. Afterwards, if they've reached the final reward, it would show their rankings overall amongst the whole playerbase. Instead of making rewards percentage placement only, (where cheaters can get a very high score, which would then causes the percentage to massively shift), players would only be competing for placement on the leaderboard after they've earned the other rewards.

It would still matter that some players were cheating, but a bit less as those who weren't cheating won't be as discouraged to participate in the rumble. If we know we can still earn the rewards, maybe more would be willing to play. Right now, its not really worth playing rumble as we cannot get the rewards we rightfully earned due to cheaters making the gap between the top 100 and top 20%, 30%, etc. larger and larger.
