What I am most curious about is how they are gonna do with this "hidden elo based ranked matchmaking" when it comes to solo Qs together with premade duos. They said that the matchmaking is supposed to compensate for the advantage that a premade duo or trio get for being premades vs squads of randoms. But what about the premade solo Q in their team? Lets say a premade duo of two players, both with the hidden elo "1000", plays ranked. So if this compensation means that the matchmaking now put them in a lobby with the average of "1200" elo to compensate for their premade status, then I find it just even more disadvantageous than now for the solo Q who is 1200 elo. Not only does he have to play with the disadvantage of a premade duo who only cares about each other, he also get two lower skilled teammates.
And this would be even worse if one of the premade duo has the hidden elo of 1000 and the other 800, which is very common among premade duos (one good friend who wanna boost his bad friend). They will ofc be matched based on the highest elo i.e 1000, and perhaps in a 1200 elo matchmaking to compensate for them being premades but the solo Q of 1200 now both have to deal with the premade duo biasness AND that one of them are slightly worse and the other much much worse than the average of the lobby..
These are just speculations ofc and I am not gonna say too much before Ive tried it but I am actually concerned that this new system will make it even worse for solo Qs.
