Season 5 audio volume - absurd gunshots gains

To put this simply: gunshots have WAY too much gain compared to all other sounds ingame.
My audio utility says enough: everytime I shoot it clips. It's SO * LOUD it clips.
For whoever reads this that does not understand anything about audio balance: gunshots are SO LOUD the speaker does not know that to do with itself when a gun is shot and outputs garbage, even at low volume.
For who knows: I had to set a -22dB audio gain to avoid the gunshots clips. -22. Are you guys OK? IT CLIPS. IT'S NOT OK.
I understand that you guys do not want gamers to hear footsteps a mile away, but this is not how it's done. I set up my equalizer with negative gains and a specific equalizer and now I don't get deafened by my own gunshots, with great expences of audio clarity, but I still hear footsteps. And how my speakers sound is nothing you can call cheating.
This is ridicolous: I have to distort severely the sounds of the game because gunshots are so loud they completely cover ingame abilities sound. I SWEAR: I COULD NOT HEAR A LOBA TELEPORTING at my side because of gunshots. They are THAT loud.
The thing that annoys me is that I love the original soundtrack of Apex Legends: pure gold. Nothing complex, but gold.
Now, after I avoided all efforts EA put into changing my habits, I had to distort it myself. I hate me for doing this.
PLEASE, do a better job at audio balance in the next season, because I HAD TO SET UP AN EQUALIZER to make the game sound right and it never happened in my life.
If footsteps were the problem, just have a range over that they can't be heared at all.

  • Hello man, i would like to know which equalizer did you use, and what setup do you have. Im having the same problem and would like to fix it as i have not been able to find any answer from EA....

  • @KangaxxIT I can feel the pain on my just built PC. The gunshot just BLASST my ears while I can barely hear my own footstep and footsteps besides me. Did you manage to fix this?
  • @liunate Equalizer APO.
Just set gains in negative dozens and you are done.
But be aware... In my case it only worked long enough to write this, after that it never worked as it should.

I am sorry for the late reply.

It was an MSI MPG X570 GAMING PRO and I were using APO Equalizer.

It could not work stable and now I have another motherboard, it worked only long enough for me to write this thread
