Senseless Battle(177 vs 151 nonsense) Need an explanation for this,PLEASE ANYONE

So let me explain the situation... I was just playing a game of ranked in Kings Canyon. Me and my squad saw a revive ship coming and immediately rushed to the attack. We had landed at that place with the octane jump pads, the other team had revived almost next to us, at the stage with a cage or whatever hanging above (Thunderdome if I'm not wrong).

As soon as we got there we saw them and decided to go each for one member...

I decided to go for the Wattson that was hiding below one of the satges. I was using Octane but did not use the adrenaline, I just ran towards her. I had a Sentinel with a x2 scope and an R 301. I get to her and fire one shot with the Sentinel... BAM!... 110 damage, Level 1 white body shield broken. Almost at the same time she starts spraying bullers with her R 99 but barely does 22 in damage and doesnt even breake one of the two bars of my white body shield. At this point she hides behind a wall and since I was less than 4 meters away from her I decide to use the adrenaline and run towards her... run, slide and jump, doesnt even take me 1 second to get to her (meanwhile I switch to my R 301). I was SURE that was a kill, there is no way she could recover from 110 damage in less than a second, RIGHT?!

Well, here is where it gets funny: as soon as I see her I start shooting and realize she, somehow, got her body shield back up. SHE RECOVERED FROM A 110 DAMAGE SHOT AND GOT HER WHITE SHIELD BACK UP all in less than 1 second. But that's not the end, nah nah, I continued shooting and did 67 damage (which should've been enough to breake her magical white shield, but nope! Didnt even breake it). Next thing I know she starts shooting again with her R 99 and KILLS ME. YEAH SHE KILLS ME.

Can someone PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE explain how is that possible??? I tried to make sense of it but it just doesnt add up. I thought hmm, maybe there was someone with her and I shot that someone? But impossible since each of my squad was fighting someone and there were no other squads around. Then I thought maybe she has an EVO shield? But as far as I know evo shields don't regen on their own, let alone regen all the way up in such a a short amount of time. Then I thought maybe she had something on her gun to make more damage or hit me with a headshot (ir made of them)? But as far as I know there is no such thing for a gun on apex and even if she had hit me with a headshot... the damage shown on screen should be higher. And that's what bothers me the most; if you add up the amount of damage I took you get 151 and if you add up the amount she took you get 177, HOW DID SHE KILL ME?

Anyway, thank you all for your time and sorry for the rant. Didnt know where to post this so hope I didnt get it wrong. I usually enjoy this game but this was just too much for me.

  • @Dilanrm99 As for how did she regained her shield back I assume she switched her shield quickly with another one (And possibly popped a syringe too) the thing I don't understand is how did she take 67 damage and it didn't break her white shield according to what you said.

    1) You were suppose to cross out their name, since you can't publicly shame them

    2) I've had issues like this before. I hit a gold armor Pathfinder with 245 or so damage (according to the death screen results) with a Prowler + Select. Pathfinder's gold armor showed it broke, and I assumed he had 12 HP or so, when I went to shoot him again, he ran behind a wall for a split second (long enough to use one shield cell, but I didn't hear them using it) and had full armor back, and full health.

    - There was no death box to armor swap with
    - The user didn't act like they were exactly hacking
    - He was shot by both of my teammates before they got knocked 2 seconds prior to my first set of shots.

I don't know if there's a health and shield cheat or what's going on here. Hope it gets resolved soon though.
  • @Dilanrm99 My best guess would be they either changed shields or popped a shield batt as soon as they disappeared (most players instantly start shielding up while they're sliding around cover), if you had to use your syringe to close the distance, and you shot them with the sentinal prior to rushing them, and you was using a x2 site on your sentinal, then you would have been around 4.5-6 seconds way, more than enough time for them to pop shields.

You did say you was less than 1 second away, but that can't be the case or they would not have enough time to use any shields.

    150 - 110 = 40

    Your next attack was 67, so 40 - 67 = -27,

so that HAS TO mean that they used a shield batt, and it took you either more/or exactly than 4.5 seconds to reach them, since you was using adrenaline you would not have heard them popping the batt, which makes sense.

It also states that they had 3 headshots (66 damage) from an R99, which also means their TTK would be faster than yours, since you only went for bodyshots and no headshots. They had 6 leg shots which are 9.6 each)

    OR...

Since it is WATSON, they had their pylon placed around the corner and popped 1-2 shields, your fight took a lot longer than you expected when you got to close range and started shooting, meaning they were healing during the fight after popping shields, thus managing to lazer you and confirm the kill.

Thanks! Not hearing the shields batts cause of the syringe could be a good explanation although doubt it since she started shooting as soon as she saw me and I should have, at the very least, seen her doing the animation (I've been rushed by people in further distances and still have no time to pop just one shield batt).

As for the syringe and the scope: I used the syringe more for mobility rather than to close the distance, and the x2 scope was just because I had no other scopes. Also, there were no pylons or shields around (went on to spectate him).

Thanks again tho, didnt know you could check for headshots and stuff on the death screen!

That's EXACTLY what happened to me. Nice to see I'm not the only one, thought I may be going paranoid!

Thanks! Didnt mean to shame them, just wanted to show the numbers!

Thanks, syringe could be a good explanation as to why I heard no regen sound (although I've been rushed by people in further distances and still have no time to pop one single batt - also I used the adrenaline more for mobility rather than to close the distance)!

Still feels kinda weird tho as there were no shields or enemy loot boxes around (went on to spectate him).
