Shotgun damage is rigged

I have found that shotgun damage is most likely rigged.

It's probably done so by design so that fights will be more of a clutch situation and not have shotguns be overpowered.

Respawn loves to design the game to even out skill gap and give you those adrenaline addicting situations.

Ever noticed how you get those ridiculous low damage numbers even if you aim perfectly at point blank range?

ITS RIGGED!

The way it probably works is that the lower health you have, the more likely it is for the shotgun hitting you to hit with a low number.

Ever noticed that the low numbers always appear more frequently when the enemy is low on health?

RIGGED!

Only when I pellets miss the enemy model, which may be hard to notice in the heat of battle but easy to see when playing back the fight in slomo.

    No.

Bottom line is that PRO players/high elo wouldnt have used it if it was rigged because they would notice it immediately and the Eve8 was very popular last rounds of ALGS and at Diamond+ ranked. But please, prove me wrong. Upload a couple of clips of these rigged scenarios and we can have a constructive discussion about it.

@Balladalidila I'm not here to "prove you wrong". What I am saying is that it most likely is rigged and thats my experience and what I see with others.
  • I disagree. Whenever I get low damage it's because I wasn't aiming directly on them and only part of the spread hit them, aiming down sights helps with this a lot.

  • I actually have to jump on the boat and agree with @Ingeniekey

I have been in situations already where I used the EVA-8 or the Mozambique and clearly hit someone - Which I saw by the shield/blood effect popping up - but either only one pellet hit or none at all. While I would like to assume it was lag, a ping of 35ms wouldn't cause that much delay. And if a direct shotgun blast hits which can be seen on the effects, and barely any damage is dealt, then either it's a severe connection problem or compensation for something.

And let's be honest, if the shield damaging/health damaging effect pops up and is clearly visible, I doubt it's me not hitting my bullets. 😉

  • @Ingeniekey Well you don't accept arguments from players that are obviously much stronger than you, you're dismissive about effort to bring you info, and just generally negative. You created half a dozen topics with "cheaters", "rigged", "absolute trash" and so on as main topic. That's tired.

Seems like you are talking about no regs rather than anything else which I also experience but not so often I consider it to be a problem. Just recently, I was chasing a Wraith and the millisecond after she came out of her Q, I landed 3-4 bullet with a Volt with flesh hit sound and everything, but no blood and no dmg. But once again; in my experience, those situations are quite rare now a days, luckily.

But no regs is something else entirely that suggesting that the game is rigged, which is so stupid its not worth even discussing with the poster. Just by realizing how the pattern of each shotgun looks, and then be intelligent enough to also realize how easy it is for pellets in these patterns may miss a player model even though you are quite on spot with the  aim, will make you realize the notion of a rigged game to be utterly pathetic.  The OP even suggested that the shotguns are rigged to do less dmg as the enemy's HP approaches 0...

All these things will become clear to you if you start recording your games and rewatch the fights in slow motion... Hard evidence... But the OP is ofc not interesting in examine the truth. He rather go with his gut feelings that this game is rigged, probably specifically against HIM...

Peri. In this game there is no "clearly hit someone" since you are the client. SHOTGUN DAMAGE is different than any other weapon in that obviously the pellets spread over distance and reduce damage based on how many of the pellets hit the target. Not to mention the servers run at about 20 tick or 20 FPS if you want to think of it that way. So where you SEE your target is not exactly the location the server sees the target, you probably noticed you may hit shots get the audio effect and the visual effect and get no damage at all. With a shotgun you may think you're hitting your target directly but in actuality since the servers are so slow, you're off from directly hitting them resulting in a reduction in damage. For me this happens pretty rarely like the no damage effect, and most the time my damage with a shotgun is low, it's me not aiming straight on. So if the "Shotgun damage is rigged" every gun's damage is rigged at some point because of hit registration.

  • I was insta-killed from the top of a radio tower by a shotgun. It was laughable. A.) guy was too high up. B.) it should only drop by half if twice normal range, not insta kill.
