Ranked is meant to be coming with skill based matchmaking, but they also need a casual mode with connection as the priority. Making a game too competitive will stop the hardcore players form playing and you don't sweaty lobbies every game. Public lobbies with random matchmaking and ranked lobbies with skill based matchmaking works best.

If the hardcore players are just noobbasher, they are not hardcore to begin with.
