Some feedback on Vantage and some weapons

Vantage’s ultimate is just lacking, compared to ground weapons it just doesn’t overperform compared to them. Which is a problem as Vantage’s ultimate has a major laser handicap. I wish it were different. The ultimate works fine as long as enemies have blue armour, but when they get purple or beyond, it falls flat on its face and becomes no better, if not worse, than a ground sniper. Here’s how to fix that:

Vantage ultimate:

Damage set to 50 on the first shot, and 150 on the second shot.

Or 70 damage on the first shot, and 140 damage on the second shot.

Either way it should 2-shot purple armour with 200 hp.

As for other weapons that need balancing:

R301: increase horizontal recoil slightly

R301 is too good at long range due to its incredible accuracy, it needs a recoil nerf so it can’t outsnipe snipers and marksmen rifles.

Kraber: make groundloot, set damage to 75 and when scoped in for 3 seconds, give a +20% damage on the next shot. Shot cycling speed increased slightly.

The kraber has been a carepackage weapon for too long, this should add a new groundloot weapon to the game that is also interesting and unique from other snipers, rewarding patient well aimed shots.

I also think a Taser-like energy pistol would be fun. Electrically stunning enemies upon flesh hits, a sort of hammerpoints. With a slow fire rate ofcourse.

Making the Bow take sniper ammo and reducing its damage to 65 would also be a welcome change, I simply don’t like carepackage weapons I suppose. And the bow has been in there for far too long. Furthermore, the arrow ammo just doesn’t fit in the game as a single weapon ammo type, and I don’t really think more arrow weapons would fit the theme of the game. When using the bow I already think it is silly, with a higher bullet speed than some firearms.

Another option would be to give the bow to an upcoming legend, that way the entire ammo problem is countered, and it could serve as an interesting ultimate weapon. It does after all have a very silent shooting sound, enabling some kind of silent ranged attack.

I hope more weapons get akimbo options.

Perhaps a new explosive weapon class could also be fun to add to the game.

I strongly disagree with people who say the game has “too many” weapons, I love tons of content, as long as it is balanced.

    They already said the Kraber is NEVER coming out of the care package.
    Likewise for the Bow because of the arrow ammo thing.
    I like your idea for using Sniper ammo for it though.
    Perhaps we could pull out the bow and insert... how about the 30-30? Bow use Sniper ammo but still classify as Marksman, yeah?

    My counter thought for energy pistol, sort of like your idea:
    -- Deals double damage to shields, and flesh hits cast a watson fence stun.
    And, how might the akimbo work? All pistols should eventually get akimbo imo.
    Mozambique deals the same damage as wingman and is more forgiving to use, akimbo wingman would miss too often to be worth it but it could be an option since the mozam is.
    I'm still waiting on their thoughts on akimbo RE45s

    Explosive/Grenedier Weapons
    They have some from Titanfall2. All they gotta do is carry them over and add rocket ammo.

    Here's my theoretical
    Rocket ammo stacks 60
    SMR has 20 mag, 1 per shot, moderate velocity, a little slower than sniper rounds, straight shot like energy.
    EPG has 25 mag, 5 per shot, slow projectile, massive damage, try not to kill yourself with it, it's effectively impact frags with a straight slow moving shot.
    Softball has 18 mag, 3 per shot, arced shots that stick to targets and surfaces and detonate after a second, 50-75 top damage, decreasing with radius down to 25 minimum.
    Cold War has 20 mag, 4 per 4 shot burst, tapping starts a charge up that cannot be stopped and then releases a 4 shot burst.

  • @KrakaDrak I don't mean to repeat myself here, but man does Vantage's ultimate suck, its fire rate is just too slow for the amount of damage it does.

    Nobody in this game peeks twice to allow the second hit of increased damage to matter. The laser also scares people instantly, it's just too handicapped to be a worthwhile ultimate. Which angers me because I said this since they released her, her ultimate isn't worth wasting time on. It's better, but its still not worthwhile.

    As for using snipers on her, sniper simply suck. There's no way around it, its too easy to get into cover, dodge by running around, or simply missing on a hair because enemies are slighly off frame due to the high movement speed in this game.

    I urge even more strongly for the developers to increase the hitbox of sniper bullets and bump up the damage on Vantage's ultimate, it isn't working like this. I could be using any other weapon class and have more game-impact, I don't want to be handicapped by playing a certain part of the game!

    I think its damage is fine, it's only the laser that makes it hard to hit people.
    She fires about as fast as a Longbow. 2 hits for 170 combined beat 2 hits for 110 combined (though I tend to hit feet for some reason so 90, just my bad aim).

    FYI, People running low frames or moderate latency lose velocity when trying to do slide maneuvers. Normalcy gets boost out of it. I think if they restrict everyone's movement to that of a person under latency, it would be more fair. No more slide boosting, it's unfair to those who can't because of bad ping or weak machines.
    Perhaps it can return in gold+ lobbies, but not in pubs or bronze.

    I own the field with Vantage's Sniper more than any other gun in game, it doesn't need a buff. If anything, they will nerf it. That would be sad, but that's the only action I forsee because of how well a lout like me can use it versus other snipers.
    BTW I can't hit the broadside of a barn with the charge rifle, but at least I can hit twice as often than the consistent beam version. I much prefer the current, nostalgic of Titanfall 2.
