I see what you are going and I understand why people would want this, but for me personally, I think game should be about mastering the skills of aiming/fighting, movement and map/game awareness on equal terms, just like most other FPS/BRs. I think the differences between Legends should be subordinate to these skills and only add that extra spice that makes this game different from other BRs. I would hate if they start to make "super tanks" or "super dps" legends with abilities that takes away from said skills of fighting, movement and game sense.
To sum it up; I would hate if this game became a League of legend or Overwatch BR where your entire playstyle depends on what legend you play. I think Caustic was a step in the wrong direction (why create a legend that promotes the style of camping in cramped spaces?)

I can see where you are coming from, but I never actually meant it to be that way.
It is very different here than other BR as you have legends with abilities but still can pick the same loadout always which means having some advantages and disadvantages in this area will only promote better teamwork and will get teams to choose characters in a way that supports each other and when looting it is gonna be interesting to be locking for a gun you prefer because of your character instead of a gun you just like and know how to use.
In other words these are tiny changes that would add only few more options to the game but never meant to be in any way overpowered. For example when I talked about weapon stability the advantage could be that when using an LMG without add ons it would still feel like as if you have a blue barrel stabilizer so it is barely an advantage.
The real game changing Idea is the deployable drone or robot that gives you a temporal access to the shield generating concept. Now if you only think of the game as something casual I would see why would you want the deciding factors to be nothing more than good aming and smart rotations with good decision making about when to push and when to reposition, there is not a single BR out there that doesn't have these things as major factors but each game has something to it that sets it aside from the others and to ignore the potential of this game having such a unique feeling to it and a complete remarkable experience and to keep the skill gap as it is would be a terrible mistake.
All the games out there that are just casual die quick or have limited scale that they can't progress and have success beyond, the games that actually last and maintain a solid place among other games are games that take care of enhancing the competitive experience and games that keeps a good balance between casual and competitive. An example for the first type is fortnite, as we all know it is the most played game right now and has the biggest audience as they focus on competitive way too much that it becomes like a sport you enjoy watching and play casually and if you are talented at it you could make some profit from it. While I can't recall BR games that kept good balance between competitive and casual there are great examples for games that aren't even BRs and did well in that area like Rainbow six siege and some aren't even shooter games like Fifa and Rocket League. If they make that work in apex it is going to be the first BR that actually have success in that and this is only going to increase it's audience and users especially that a higher skill gap will make room for more pros to shine and more above average players to go competitive and try to improve as we all know this would give the chance for more and more tournaments and this is alone enough to increase the fan base and a solid factor for the community to grow because of the publicity. This will benefit everyone playing the game and those who are working on it's development.
