I think your solution is a little too complex to implement, but I like hearing more people complain about this issue.
Controller Aim assist has no place on PC, as its way too powerful, and provides WAY too much of an advantage.
People almost look like they're aimbotting when they use aim assist in up close fights.
I think the best (although maybe hardest solution) would be to restrict controllers players to cross-platform with console players.
If these people decide to play with keyboard/mouse players, they should have no option of aim assist.

Yah, i have no clue how a game studio adds aim assist, so i wouldn't know the first thing if it's hard to be honest. I don't think aim assist should be in any video game, just makes people lazy mindless zombies. I don't get why people would want to play a shooter, but have something do the aiming for them?
But with all that above, i still would be okay to play with controller users, just they need to make it so i don't get aim assisted while i'm using my mouse. I also played more Apex on PC with a controller, but didn't have a clue it was this easy to aim with. That is half my point, they (Respawn) made me lazy by adding aim assist, so i felt okay using a controller on PC vs people who didn't have it.
In my opinion, i don't think personal computers means directly mouse & keyboard. It's personal to each and every user. I just don't a personal device should affect someone else at the end of the day. Aim assist helps on, but hurts another. If anything, aim assist should target peoples feet. They can aim lock my feet all they want.
It would be very funny to have a no aim assist day in Apex. Like if they turned it off without telling anyone, that would be funny.
Haha, I like the idea of just randomly turning it off without notifying anyone.
It would be very easy to show pro streamers suddenly missing all their shots, and struggling to play anywhere near as good as they used to.
And it would be extremely valuable to assess the effectiveness of Aim assist.
(Although needless to say, its extremely effective)
I am actually 100% against using controllers on a pc platform. It is unfair game play for those of us on mouse and keyboard who get no assistance with aim. Why play on pc if not getting the real experience from the pc gaming?
I dont wanna hear omg i played on console my whole life its all i know. Well at one point you didnt know itand adapted. At one point we was not good with keyboard and mouse and adapted. If cant play with true pc parts then go back to console as far as im concerned. We want true pc players not aim assist controller users having that slight advantage over all.

Do you know what aim assist actually does brother? This game is not like fortnite or any other game which has aim assist. In the most simplest of terms, all aim assist does is SLIGHTLY slow down your aim when you are aiming around the radius of an enemy. However, It is strongly visible when you are aiming at a downed enemy with their shield up and you have to force your controller away from them (which happens on console a lot).
