Were those really arguments that Respawn or a dev at Respawn ever said? Ive never seen anyone make those argument so it almost seems to me that hose were your arguments and its pretty meaningless to argue against yourself, isnt it? But please correct me if I am wrong. When did Respawn every say those things/make those arguments about "low player retention, solved with a level requirement"? (I dont even understand what you mean with that; if you mean the lvl 10 for ranked, its always been there as far as I know). And about legend balance... Correct me if I am wrong but do you think they are doing something bad by trying to balance the game so every legend is at least viable? And anyhow, they fail on this point anyways since there only are 5-6 of the 18 Legends that are viable in pro play (which ofc is the level they must balance the game to).

And I think those argument that Ive seen from Respawns about no solo mode are totally legit. The player retention argument was not an opinion; it was based on their collected data. They saw that  especially newer players didnt play solo for very long each gaming session. This was also true for me personally; I usually played a couple of solo games when it was a LTM but after the 2-3 game, I got tired of it and either switched to squad again or stopped playing the game entirely for the day. 

The second Ive seen was that they wanted to focus on their USP in the BR market and not try to be "best at everything". I mean; you could demand every single game mode and say that "Respawns argument against it is terrible".  4-squad mode, 5-squad mode, team death match, solo deathmatch, racing mode (only vehicles in a racing circuit), 40 player maps, 100 players maps and so forth in infinity. But if we assume that their collected data about the low player retention for solos is true, then how can you argue that its a "terrible argument" that they shoudlnt focus and spread out their resources on such a mode?   So even if you personally want solo mode, I still think the arguments against it are valid.
