I used to hate leaving, but now I support it. Here are some reasons why I will leave (which may share some similarities to other's reasons above):
- My other two teammates relinquish jumpmaster (me being third in line). This means neither of my teammates are confident (or paying attention) to play the game. We will lose;
- My teammates land us in an absolutely ridiculous spot on drop - In the middle of a field / on hammond / waterfall at olympus / on a POI with literally 10 teams dropping on it (hot dropping);
- If both my teammates go down within 10 seconds of landing;
- If both my teammates lose a 1 v 1 and I have to 1 v 3 and I'm not full health / ready to fight;
- If I get bricked up by a player or team in the immediate vicinity of my teammate to which I am returning to heal (ostensibly to a "safe" place). Because my teammate clearly had no idea enemies were in the area, or did not communicate it to me, and is just a clueless player.
- If my teammates don't know how to push / are backing up / hiding - they clearly don't recognize an advantage;
- My teammates are so bad that my skill can't compensate for their lack of skill - they die in seconds in every fight and aren't any threat;
- The map turns to Stormpoint and I didn't realize it;
- If me and another teammate were got knocked and the other teammate is not even in the vicinity of the fight;
- If my teammate has an especially controversial name (like HitlerWasRight, or SlapThatCu**, or something like that). I just don't want to play with people like that;
- If my baby starts crying mid-game, she was sleeping and I thought I had time to play, but suddenly I don't anymore (it's just pubs, life goes on);
- If somebody rings the doorbell to my house, wanting something;
- If I get an important phone call;
- If I am lagging so bad that the game is unplayable for me;
- If I keep dying and I realize I am a liability to the team, rather than a help;
Reasons I don't leave:
- If I can see my teammates are actively trying to do their best to play, no matter if we are getting starched;
- If someone picks the character I want to play (nobody "earned the right" to permanently play any character. If anything your high kill count on the character indicates you should be playing another character so you can be more well-rounded);
- If I am winning or absolutely roasting people;
Hmm... seems like there's a lot more reasons to leave than to stay actually...
