Support will not refund Apex Coins
Hey there,
I am creating this post because I am frankly shocked at the awful customer support service EA has provided. I am not sure where-else but here to go to get my issue resolved without taking unreasonable actions. I apologize for the lengthy post. TLDR: I was wrongfully charged twice due to server error for the premium battle pass and they refuse to refund the coins.
On the day of the Legacy update, the game was incredibly glitchy as I'm sure some of you experienced on that day. There were times when the game would stabilize and things seemed all good again. One of those times it stayed stable for a good chunk of time and I thought they got their stuff together. I then purchased the battle pass for the season, but instead of being charged 950 coins once, I was charged twice. Seeing how the servers were unstable at the time, I thought it was understandable and I would just contact support and get my coins but - easy as that. The representative I chatted with was kind, saw I was mistakenly charged twice and tried to refund the coins. The game was still unstable and my currency balance came and went so I was unable to confirm the refund. Come to find out when the servers were stable again and I could see my balance, I did not get my refund.
I contacted support (and I am not exaggerating) 7 times following that ticket attempting to get my coins back. I have been treated with the most disrespectful, ignorant, and frankly stupid customer support I've ever come across. Each time I was told the original representative already refunded my coins, and that they will not refund them again. It has been more than a week since they supposedly refunded me, and I have not received anything back. They told me it was a synchronization error on the account and to play the game to fix it. I played the game, got some 100 apex coins from the battle pass rewards and still did not get my coins back. They had me play on Origin instead of steam and do the same thing - I grinded again to get another 100 coins from the battle pass and did - still no coins.
Finally today, I reached out once more to let them know their solution did not work and after explaining my situation for the 8th time I was told this:
(Name removed) (5/13/2021, 3:59:11 PM): The team has checked and sin on on May 5, 2021 at 11:51 PM UTC 950 coins were added in the account, I am afraid to inform you that the coins cannot be added back.
Update to this post - I contacted the EA help twitter and they resolved the issue in 4 simple messages. Unbelievable.
