The Apex store is an absolute scam and I don't care about the prices.

This is not a complaint about things being too expensive. I am happy to spend good money on a game I enjoy and I really enjoy Apex.

My problem lies in the incredibly predatory nature of the lootbox/heirloom relationship and the proprietary currency.

1) Apex coin should be purchasable in any amount. Forcing players to buy coins in set amounts is just a dishonest way of increasing the price of everything in the store. Coincidentally nothing in the store is sold in denominations of coins that are available to be purchased. Just let us buy as many coins as a thing costs instead of spitting in our faces trying to squeeze every dime you can out of us.

2) Make heirlooms more accessible. Personally I don't buy packs because it's just gambling. I watched a popular streamer yesterday open 300 packs in a row without getting any heirloom shards. I have 1000ish hours at level 350 with no heirloom shards. Make it so that after you achieve a certain criteria with a character you can either craft or purchase an heirloom outright. Otherwise it just feels like mockery when it's expected to pay upwards of hundreds/thousands of dollars for a digital heirloom. I respect that these things take time and effort to make and should have a price. I don't even mind if that price is exorbitant. But it's simply a slap in the face to the player base to expect them to shell out so much cash just for the CHANCE to get an heirloom. What's the point of making this awesome art if I have to become a gambler in order to enjoy it?

Overall it's just really sad that such a predatory model is the standard in games these days. It would be nice to see someone take some initiative and provide a model that isn't specifically designed to take advantage of gambling addicts and people with enormous disposable incomes.
