LETS GIVE EA CREDIT WHERE IT'S DUE
EA is giving us Exactly what we asked for, if you don't wont to spend 35 bucks on a heirloom item then fine, that's your free choice and I respect you for that, but why are you bad mouthing EA for giving you Exactly what you wanted, be content!!
EA is giving you the opportunity to spend your money on their Product that they don't have to provide, would you be happier if this event never happened - No you wouldn't so stop griping
This game is awesome, great Job EA love to see more Soon.

@thefalconbeta The point you've presented is valid and this game is most certainly a good one.
People should and will always have to pay for the content they want.
And yes it is the individuals' choice as to whether or not they fork out the up to $80 or so for a big bag of premium coins. I'm not disputing that, nor the fact that this method of monetisation is perfectly legal.
However in the case of Apex Legends, the main concern of many players is that when they do invest their money, it is only for a mere chance to get what they want.
If every 30 apex packs guarantees a single Legendary item and players pay enough to obtain said 30 packs, would it really be all that wrong for players to then have the opportunity to select which legendary skin that want?
My first legendary item was a Mozambique skin.
*sighs at remembering the disappointment*
It would've been nice to be able to choose one for myself.
Sure I described EA as "the enemy" but that is only to highlight the fact players who spend money on the game have no control over what they're actually rewarded with.
Overall however, you're right in how we should give credit where it's due.
EA and Respawn have produced great content at a considerably fast rate for a free to play game. Compared to a game like Anthem which was supposed to be the years biggest game but only proven to be sorely lacking in content after however many months, Apex Legends in that same time has seen multiple community requested game modes added, greater number of cosmetic items added and hundreds of core game mechanic fixes, improvements and refinements.
Players are getting what they ask for.
Although players shouldn't be expected to tolerate price inflation without a justified reason as to why it is in place.

- 6 years ago@dtOddity92 I agree that the apex pack mechanic should be changed and I will give you that

200$ skins is plain crap and with performance like this its * hilarious
- 6 years ago@Sarrgeras There's no doubt that things that are happening in Apex Legends are sometimes absurd, but we must bare in mind that this is a free to play game and one that, despite the controversy, has endeavoured to deliver the content players have asked for. And to have done so in such a short period of time is quite honestly astounding.
No, the Iron Crown event may not be perfect, after all this entire thread dedicated to people questioning the purpose of it's increased monetisation. However despite all the controversy, Respawn and EA have delivered a highly requested game mode, more diverse customisation options and a multitude of bug fixes and core gameplay refinements and improvements.
We have to appreciate that despite how many negative feelings we might have towards an aspect of the game which is purely optional.
- 6 years ago@thefalconbeta Changes would be ideal for the community overall yes, however those cannot be immediate. We may have to tolerate things we consider to be a problem for a long time before we can be truly happy with this product.
Look at how things have occurred with a game like Anthem.
Players were promised content like the cataclysm.
When they never received it they demanded something be done and done hastily. So it was and it resulted in being nothing more than a blue screen filter.
With Apex Legends there are so many things the developers have to prioritise in order to successfully provide the content the layers ask for.
So the important thing we have not remember here is that we cannot demand and then simply expect to be pandered to straight away.
The best thing we can do is raise points and discuss them to encourage the developers to accept them as reliable and legitimate feedback.
