The Iron Crown Event: Just a predatory monetisation tactic?

Yeah, I ve been playing ea games since i was 8 or 9 years old, my first game were FIFA95 and NFS2. I grew up playing Battlefield, fifa, nfs, c&c, etc. But now "EA" is like a poison for me. It started back im ME2, with its goddamn multiplayer lootboxes. You could play without buying them sure, and there was no advantage over other players (horde mode), but it was a blatant case of "buy an uberdevice for real muniz". It only got worse. Now we have a battlefield games where people look like they're staright out of 80-s rock party, for the sake of microtransactions. Remember great Battlefield games? Like Bc2? Where everyone looked almost the same and you couldn't pimp your tanks? And no politics, no battle royale for the sake of battle royale, no "chapter 4 will come out 3 months later?"? Just gameplay, balance, core mechanics and all that other secondary-nowadays features? I do, and I still play it from time to time, it feels good.

I stopped buying ea games after Andromeda, which was a DISASTER, I couldn't finish even half of it, so I've only picked up BF1 later, when it was like 4 bucks on sale, and it turned out to be pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised by Apex, I've bought BP without second thought as a way of thanking devs for the good game, but turns out it was along ruse by EA. It is a pretty cool one too - people have to pay money to be able to pay more money later (if I understand that corectly from the videos). Bobby Kotick would be proud. So big companies have already ruined most of the franchises that I played, like WoW, CoD, BF, even goddamn PVZ (heroes) which I deleted from my phone, because it's a mess. I've never liked Ubisoft, but seems like they're one of the few big companies left that do not prioritize profit as badly as others do. And gaming journalists wonder, why people can't wait for April 16...
