The matchmaking problem

That is exactly how sbmm should work. You don't deserve hundreds of easy matches just so you can play with your less-skilled buddy. Truth is, friends of disparate skill should not be playing together at all, but if they do then the game should match them into lobbies based on whichever one of them has the highest skill. As a matter of fact, I've never played a game that did it any other way, and they do it that way to prevent exploitation. I'm not saying you personally are trying to take advantage of the system, but I don't really care what your motivations are if I'm legit silver in a match with multiple diamond tier players who are using the excuse that "they should be able to play with their scrub friends." Just no.

Skill also does not have to due with how new an account is or how new a player is to this game. 

How many level 1-50 accounts "Smurf's are out there mopping the field? Until they get properly sorted out by the SBMM and then matched properly vs Preds, a lot of them, I see them all the time. 

Skill is dependent on multiple factors, placement, damage, kills, assists, wins etc. not on level. 

If you and your "new" friend is doing very well then you will be pitted against better and better players. Plus as Recon mentioned even if they are not doing well but you are, you will be the cause of them being matched with better players as well. 

SBMM in that case would be working just fine. 

That's what I'm saying fix your game apex wtf your ranked system sucks but
