I highly believe they are working on something to make the matching better.
On Reddit, people talk about the "Apex Elite Queue" its like a playground for the people who get in the top 5 of a match.
So I think it means that if you're a good player you will be matched with other players who might be a good matchup.
I think this alone will help to get the pressure of the lower level players.
But to be honest I think they have some ideas that will work.
I do believe the elite queue will improve the situation, because at least some of the top players will use the seperate queue, but it's not going to eliminate it. There are still going to be noobs and top players in the same matches in the regular queue.
I agree with what was written above that finding players of perfectly equal skill is impossible because it would take too long to form matches. However, perfectly equal skill isn't needed. You wouldn't even notice the difference, because there are so many other factors than skill that decide the outcome of a battle, like what weapon you managed to get and what situation you end up in. So to me, perfect skill based matchmaking doesn't seem needed: the only thing I want is that the very top of the playerbase is not in my matches anymore. Throw out the people who stream for a living and the nolifers with top badges and 5000+ kills on one character, and suddenly matches would be a lot more fun.
