Indeed, this game is not only "not 100% realism", it's actually one of the least realistic FPS game. I'm not sure what you're trying to say with your last line. Shotguns are and will always be deadly even at ridiculously long range (people hunt geese flying dozens of meters in the sky with shotguns to name one example) but if games made their weapons strickly like they are IRL, NOBODY would bother using anything but LMGs or shotguns in fast pace FPS games because a single bullet/pellet would be enough to either kill or injure the player enough his character would be incapacitated. The reason it's not like that is for "balance" and "fun".
Balance >>>>>> realism.
Which brings us exactly to my point, the only times being slowed down from a bullet happens is when you're trying to flee either because you need to get some cover or because you're weaponless. In both situation, the shooter (which is already dealing damage to his target) is already at a significant advantage (which is fine at this point) but it is further emphasized with a snare/slow which is ridiculous. It's just too much. Add on top of that how the garbage netcode (reminder: it's been proven it is the WORSE of any triple A title from all mainstream FPS titles tested) further rewards the shooter, even moreso if he's lagging from a 3rd world country, and you have a gigantic mess on your hands and that's exactly what Apex is.
There's a reason no slow (or your character being crippled for example) is applied when you are shot in any mainstream pvp shooter title : fortnite, overwatch (excluding abilities), BF titles, COD titles, etc. because it's a frustrating mechanism. It's ok in a faceoff as it doesn't change much to the fight, but when you're trying to flee, you should be able to disengage with every character, not just octane or pathfinder using their abilities.
Otherwise, while we're at it, I want my target to have his accuracy crippled if I land bullets (I mean, try aiming while bullets make contact with your body), I want everybody to run slower depending on the amount of items carrying and how hurt they are, I want gravity damage, etc. etc. It never ends.
