I think we'll have to agree to disagree on his ult. A slowing effect+50 damage to anybody in its radius seems pretty damn powerful to me lol.
It's literally bangalores ult with a precise controlled AoE and much greater hit rate.
The reason I said the hp bar is a non priority issue is due to the fact in reality you're not going to be paying much attention to crypto's drone hp when you're not in it...unless you're sat there staring at your own drone, which if we're honest means you're either playing extremely passively or not paying attention to the fight at hand.
It would be pretty cool in the drones HUD, but with the amount of hp it has odds are if you're taking fire it's going to be destroyed before your recall sequence completes anyway.
@MandatoryIDtagBangalore ult isn't even comparable to Cryptos, Her ult covers a larger area, Potentially deals much more damage than 50 (to both health and shield) if placed correctly, And the slow effect lasts much longer than the EMP, Also Crypto EMP is completely avoidable by destroying the drone. Once you EMP a team then try to push them, They would have mostly already recharged their shields. Given the fact that you need to stay away from your EMP so it won't effect you. Also why wouldn't I pay attention to the drone HP bar? The drone is Litteraly the only thing Crypto relies on. his drone would be too strong if he were to get unaffected by his own emp, it already is one of the best ults in the game despite what people think, its a GUARANTEE'd 50 damage on possibly all 3 enemies on a team, damage ults are situational if they get damage off, such as bangalore, caustic or gibby's ult since you can see it coming and easily run out of it before it hits you, emp is impossible to avoid if the enemy crypto knows what they're doing and place their drone behind cover and out of sight and the organized team is unaffected and can capitalize on you when you're stunned. there are already some workarounds to avoid getting hit by your own emp in the game already, such as having a teammate wraith portal you to an enemy team, and activate the emp just before entering the portal, so while it goes off, you're still in range to capitalize on your emp without getting hit by it if you time it right, and there's also being under the effects of a revenant ult, getting hit by an emp when you're in a revenant ult doesn't damage you, but it does still stun you
Im a masters crypto main with the 20k badge and 4k damage, and i can agree that he still needs a slight buff to help him be viable when players wanna decide on picking him or another character with more versatile utility
a cool idea i think would help him is if his drone could act as a decoy would act like a mirage, crypto can place his drone, get out of his gameboy controlling it, and have an 'interact' key to press while crypto is on the move to make the drone mimic his movements, so the drone can fly/scan/emp while the crypto himself doesnt have to be in it, this would unlock a lot of a skill ceiling for crypto players cause now players could work on doing secret moves that only with character knowledge you know you can do, such as place it exactly 51 meters away and have it fly as you move and the emp wouldnt hit you if you activate it
crypto's main drawback is needing to be in his gameboy to have an effective ability most of the time, this would eliminate all of that
- @Citrix_Orange I dont think the drone doing things on its own will ever happen because obviously scanning your surroundings safely needs a big drawback, Also Im going to make some edits to the post.
I mean enemies can still easily shoot the drone while it’s out, the health can be lowered back to 1 if it would be too strong
