They said it would be easier to level up the battle pass this time around, yet they double the exp from 27000 to 54000. Yeah they added challenges but you complete 3 dailies and that's only 16.5% of one level. And you should receive bonus exp for top 3 or winning, and not cap it at 1 time a day, make it infinite
The +1 Battle pass level challenges are nice, but there aren't enough of them
I pointed this out when the season 2 levelling mechanics were 1st announced, and was promptly shouted down.
The warning signs should have been noticed when they described it as 'way more rewarding' rather than 'way less grindy'.
They've made levelling up *rapidly* MUCH slower; soft-gating progression to extend the life of the battle pass & encourage premium progression purchases.
The challenges are there to strongly encourage habitual play patterns, and boost logins for digital footfall in Origin & the in-game store.

I'm already 15level so 60lvl in 1 month and 110 lvl in almost 2 months. I finished Season 1 in 1,5 month but i was forced to play with at least 7 characters to max their points every week.
At least now it's definitely less playtime with characters i don't like.
If you are busy you can finish it in 3 months by earning 9-10 lvls each week.
*Maybe you'll have 2 weekly challenges about 30 kills with one character and 8000 damage with another character but later you continue playing with your main. Also maybe your main is in the challenge.
2 out of 3 Daily Challenges are easy,fast to complete so again later you continue playing with your main character.

Yes, it is easier to level up in general because of the challenges in place. Despite that, it does take longer to actually complete the whole battlepass.
‘What is this magical hogwash this guy is talking about’ is what you’re probably thinking right now. Lemme explain: the weekly challenges alone net you around 7-10 levels (not sure about the actual level). Lets say 8 for argument’s sake. 12 weeks (3 months is likely how long this BP will last) is 96 levels worth of weekly challenges. This is without the match xp you get from every match of course but just for argument’s sake I’ll continue speaking only about the xp gained from the challenges. To ‘complete’ the BP you need 4 more levels and that can be done with a few dailies. To actually get to 110 you need far more dailies.
Thing is, even tho challenges make leveling easier, without the challenges, you need more match exp to actually level. This is why it’s easier but takes longer to level up in the battlepass. Cause as soon as you have no challenges it’s basically you grinding to 54K xp to rank up instead of the 27K needed in Season 1.

Above are the details regarding progression through the BP. In your thread’s name you mention that ‘they said it’d be faster to level up’. Can you point out where in the article they said that? So far I’ve asked this question a few times but never got a reply back. Either because it’s not been said and they didn’t want to ‘lose face’ or they ‘heard that’d be faster’ somewhere. I may be blind for not seeing that it would be faster, so thats why I want to get proven wrong essentially.

Lead Product Manager Lee Horn (Leeeeeee-RSPN) here. We heard your feedback on the Season 1 grind and created a system which should allow for significantly greater Battle Pass progress with less grind over less time for players who return on a regular basis and maximize their Challenge resets. :P

I just don't get how they can say it's easier progression while doubling from 27000 to 54000.
I'm at about level 20 battle pass right now it just feels very slow and I've completed all challenges, weekly and daily, some days I do miss a daily or two
So yeah now it's grinding 54000 instead of 27000 with no challenges and no bonuses
It's easier progression because with the old BP you didn't get a full level when completing the following:
"Play 1 round as caustic"
"Get 3 knocks"
"Breath in and breath out"
How is shroud lvl 103 if it not faster this season? we are only one week into the BP? how that's what i want to know... that is a lot of xp grinding lol
Yep until you run out of challenges and it's 54k grind it's still a grind, they just want people to buy battle pass levels
