This Charge Rifle "nerf" is a joke

Bottom line is it's still insanely easy to use and over-powered.  The "nerf" has not solved any of the issues with this weapon, players are still using it en masse, camping on buildings and just beaming people with it.  This is exasperated by the fact that this map is so wide open with little cover in most areas making late game severely unbalanced.

Please address the REAL issue with this weapon, it's low-skill threshold/ease of use (tracking) and it's damage.  Respawn, you need to apply a major nerf to either the handling of the weapon or its damage.  

Since it is a sniper rifle nerf some of the damage and nerf the handling, make it difficult to use, or put it in a care package so it's rare.  The Longbow is a beast of a weapon, but it takes a decent amount of skill to use and needs to be kitted out to be effective.  The Charge Rifle should be difficult to use also as any sniper rifle should be, when a player chooses to pick it up they should be thinking about the pros and * of doing so.  No one that finds a Charge Rifle thinks, ohhhh I'm not good at this I'll pass.  If player passes on using the Charge Rifle it's not because they think they can't handle it.

You have great balance on most of the other weapons in this game, I don't understand why the last two season you introduce weapons or hop-ups that are severely broken and ruin what is already a really good weapon meta.  First disruptor rounds now the Charge Rifle, and then you keep these broken items in the game applying ineffectual nerfs.  Look at your game, it should be painfully apparent this weapon in its current state is no good.  NERF it for real, and don't waste time doing it.

  • The issue with the charge rifle is there is 0 bullet drop and there is no nerf to effectiveness the further away it is shot. You can beam someone 300 meters away no issue if you have a good scope. Honestly all that has to be done to make it a fair nerf is to throw it into a care package, it give it 40 shots in it and that's it. You can keep the rest the same but then only one or two pop up all game and you can't use it unlimitedly. This gun is way overpowered and has no business being in the game as a regular drop. At this point you might as well just make the mastiff and the kraber base game weapons too....

  • I'm posting here to give the devs feedback. The charge rifle needs to be rebalanced. 

    I don't feel as strongly as you do about the "ease of use", but i think that the combination of rate of fire, damage, magazine size, almost no falloff, and visual/audio hit effects makes it a godgun in comparison to every other weapon out there. 

    I agree that it should be a care package gold gun with limited ammo. Even in that category, it would still trump them all, but at least you wouldn't see multiple teams where all 3 members have a fully kitted one just terrorizing anyone who didn't clamber to the top of the few pieces of cover on Meltdown.

    TLDR: Please rebalance the charge rifle. Apex needs it
