@PsyhiX69I still think this game uses EOMM because it doesn't seem to care if someone's a bot, cheater, casual, smurf, or pro. They're all put into the same lobby for quick matches.
I also wish they raise the level requirement to enter rank and start region locking servers. Too many people going to distant servers to abuse the high pings and to use cheats.
Edited: Part of the issue now is that they allow higher ranks to que in with lower ranks, as I just saw a Bronze I Gibraltar aimbotting alongside a Gold II Revenant who's on console with XIM, (The Revenant was moving EXACTLY like a PC player, including moving while looting deathboxes). Both players are cheating, with Gibraltar using PC cheats, and Revenant using MNK on console cheats.
I didn't see if the 3rd was cheating, but they have 10 kills and was running around by themselves. If I had to guess, the Pathfinder was also cheating.
The other two road around the map in a trident, with Gibraltar driving as they had wall hacks as well. Revenant would jump out first to empty a mag into other players, then Gibraltar would jump out and beam whoever was still standing moments later. By beam, I'm talking about dying as if we have the same health from Warzone. My team died within 3 seconds of them pulling up with the Trident, (and I wish I was joking). The moment I saw Revenant jump out of the trident, one of my teammates got knocked, then I was knocked by Gibraltar right before Gibraltar and Revenant beamed the 3rd who was behind me.
Both Gibraltar and Revenant were also able to shoot through Gibraltar's tactical, which should be impossible. Yet, considering that cheaters can shoot through and around knockdown shields, this doesn't surprise me at all.
I know someone is going to say that "since Revenant is currently gold, they can matchmake with Gibraltar". Which would of been fine if Revenant wasn't a previous pred player using controller cheats.
If there's anything to take away, its this: The game needs a better anti-cheat and it needs more attention for security. The game is clearly way too hackable and the "anti-cheat" doesn't seem to work. We shouldn't have to overwhelm Hideouts with clips, just for the cheaters to alt account their way back in. We need a system that better detects them and bans them. You would think a "new account" getting a bunch of headshots or having perfect aim would set off the aimbot or smurfing alarms, but it doesn't, which tells me that the anti-cheat isn't cut out for the job.- @PsyhiX69 Your current or past rank is irrelevant, what matters is your win rate, number of kills and K/D.
Eventhough I have never been higher than diamond, Im used as a canon fodder to backfill casual lobbies for master/pred/streamer/pro level players because my k/d is slightly over 2.
Almost everybody in these lobbies has at least one of master/pred/4k/20bomb badge and tens of thousands kills.
Thats why I mostly play ranked - PsyhiX692 years agoSeasoned Ace
@Midnight9746 The Gib has a 5 in a row win badge with only 65 headshots - omfg.
I don't even have such a badge and I am player since day one.
@PsyhiX69 Reporting players for any reason also doesn't work, along with blocking. The game would still put them in your matches, and even give you them as teammates.
In other words, player A can report player B until the cows come home, and the game will still give player B as a random for player A. I've had the same bad teammates 5 matches in a row before, and even had randoms who were cheating and I had to play another mode, game, or sit in the lobby to wait for them to hopefully be in a match when I start queing.
This matchmaking seems to favor quick matches, over quality matches, which is part of why I keep saying the game has EOMM. The other part of why I think the game has EOMM is because its putting players in back to back bad matches and when it thinks they're going to get off, it gives them a good match before doing it over again.
I've experienced this way too much, and I can tell when I'm going to either win or place top 3. Which is when everyone I fight are either bots or bad at the game, and my teammates can suddenly do more than 100 damage and they're not dying within the first few seconds of a fight.
If you decide to play with friends, the matchmaking changes for the worse.
Playing as a duo team, you would usually get a really bad 3rd, and go up against enemies of a much higher skill. While playing as a trio team, since the game can't give you any bad teammates, it just gives you enemy squads of a much higher skill. At least that's what happens when I play with friends, (most of them don't play Apex anymore due to the cheating/smurfing issues, zero/no audio, bad matchmaking, etc.)
Yesterday I played a few matches with a friend of mine. While on my own before they joined, I was seeing low levels, (level 20-35) every other 3rd or so match. Once they had joined me, suddenly every match had a bunch of low level players. You could argue that maybe it was because my friend is only in the 100 level range, (they don't play very much), and the game was "taking it easy" on us, but nope.
Every low level player was either a smurf or a cheater, and I've played the game long enough to know what cheating looks like. Most of the matches as well, the low levels were on the champion team, and I would see them in the kill feed a lot.
EA/Respawn seems to allow smurfing as they allow pros to stream rookie to pred grinds, and allow so many "new accounts" into matches who are at a pred level skill and/or are using cheats.
What's the point in having a smurfing report option, if its allowed by EA/Respawn? Why don't we have other report options for things like xray/wall hacks? Why doesn't the report option, "concluding with other teams", also let us easily report who they're concluding with? etc.- PsyhiX692 years agoSeasoned Ace

That's exactly my experience, which is saddening, because deep inside I know I didn't earn it in any way. I was just in a lobby with lower skilled player (no matter if real or bots).

Once I am put in these lobbies it's impossible to be "downgraded". The only thing that works is to stop playing immediately and come back tomorrow.

Like what exactly I suppose to do here. Mind You they are not playing alone like one skilled + two "bots" like I am but always play as a 3 stack of high skilled players.
If that is not a manipulative matchmaking that I don't know what is.
There is only a certain number of matches per day I can play until I start to see these prestacks and the worst part is that the MM seems to NOT CARE if I am actually playing good or bad at some point I will face these players anyway.
