Today Apex died to me

I have been playing Apex throughout Easter on my PS4.  I am not a great FPS player, but enjoyed the game. Played well in some games and not good in others. It was a good mix. I even became champion, something have haven’t succeeded on PC.

I was matched with low level players. Players matching my below average skills. Players - New like me. Eager to play together. I needed help at first. I helped others later when I got more experienced. 80% of the time the squad worked together. It was great.  All in all I had a great experience with Apex until I hit level 20 today. Almost from level to level I got matched with players far more experienced than me. Players level 40,60,79 etc. player with 1900kills. I have maybe 50-60? So the game changes. I meet a squad and 1,2,3 Im down and out. I don’t stand a change. My squad jump head on. Dies, quits game, before I even get a chance to revive or heal. Suddenly I am alone with my p2020 and white armor against a champion squad with 1900kills.

I played this way throughout this evening and it just became too much. Squad leaving early, squad jumping different places, squad running off solo. Opponents way to good for me. In the end I want to play against ppl with my own skills. I want to have good and bad games. I Don’t want to “get better”. I have no aspiration to become great. I just want to have fun.

I have absolutely no fun now and when you actually like the game it is really sad you have to quit it.

Add your voices. Lack of matchmaking (and the plethora of issues the game has like character balancing, bullcrap "weapon curve", netcode, server rubberbanding, hit reg issues, greedy ridiculously high MTX prices, gambling boxes, etc.) are all killing the game.

There's a reason it's barely holding up against PUBG in terms of views on twitch which is * sad and that nobody really talks about this game anymore. Also, pretty much all youtubers and streamers are playing something else... The game's popularity and player count is down the drain and has been on a steady decline ever since shroud and DrDisrespect grew bored of Apex, a while ago already, and started streaming other stuff.

The game had an amazing launch but it's issues took too long to be resolved... Actually most are still affecting it.

Agreed. I am closer to a high-level player, but whatever they are doing has pushed me away. On friday I tried about 12 games, and almost all of them at night/early morning were completely useless. A waste of time. I was matched with mostly low levels and the champion squad, and other squads in the game, were clearly tryhard near pros with more kills than I have combined with all characters. It's ridiculous at this point, and yes this game will crash fast if it continues.

I know they are working on things. But it can't continue like this. So many low level players just drop, die, and get out ASAP. The game is not fun anymore.

So much to the point if I see low levels on my team in the legend screen I will just leave.

  • I agree, I have played Apex for about 3 weeks now, today was the last time I will play until the matchmaking issue gets fixed. It is no longer fun for me to face off against people who are so much better than me. All I am at this point is walking target practice.

The second reason that Apex died to me is that in the 3 weeks I have played ( console and comp) everyone that I have met has been a complete and total a**hole

Netcode !... hahahah hahahha HAHHAHAA HAHAA

The Client Server stack is not the issue the overloaded VM's and holiday period + the amount of attacks from around the world contribute to this, It's Load balancing not working at their data center and they underestimated the amount of connections to power needed.

  • My solution was to restart with a new account. Because after you reach level 20-25, matchmaking ends and you face people 100 times better than you. Now, I do have a few wins, but that is because I was teamed up with great players. That's obviously fun, but it isn't fun to be the liability of the team, and I don't have the time to play 12 hours a day just to become good enough to rule. I just wanna have a good time. I wish there was a reset function, or at least, that each character had it's own level, so you could go from level 1-20 with all the different characters. Some good training right there.

  • Noobs always want to land in Skull Town too and I'm sick of it. They do nothing but die.
