Toxic Player Base
I've only been playing Apex for a few weeks, but I uninstalled it last night. The last 2 days, basically since the word spread about the hitbox discrepancies and other related bugs, I've been insulte...
Regarding toxic players in Apex, its just the same as in every other FPS games. Tension, frustration, agression mixed with "no life" PC gamers always comes with toxic players. I did not see more in Apex than in the BF series. Maybe less Apex players are taking the games seriously as it is free, they did not pay for it....
But yeah, unlike in BF2-4 series there are no dedicated community servers with admins and rules and constant community member players who know each other so the self control in Apex (and in BF5) is pretty much zero compared to BF2-4 games where the community was and still is strong, it does have strong filtering and control on its community and the random players too (kick, ban, vote etc) where your NAME MEANS something on the server, it is your face which you do not waste....
EA has killed the COMMUNITY and most of the fun element in BF5 and Apex, that is the issue! You play with your mates or you are screwed... ON BF4 servers you know each other each round and know what to expect from whom, know their skills etc... Bf2-4 are competitive community based games while BF5 and Apex are arcade ad hoc rounds if you do not play it with your friends, but still the enemy is random mess mainly noobs without leaders.

BF no longer has dedicated servers. This is a thing of the past because they are targeted for ddos and people are stalked nowadays by malicious hackers. Badmins have taken over so companies had to pull the plug following the lead by console games. BF3 use to give players names and even the ip address of the server. That slowly started to change.
Also in BF most people are not trolling on the mic. ACtually you are lucky to get anyone to talk on the mic and if they do they are usually mature, And age has nothing to do with it, in apex even adults act the fool on the mic.
And I guess BF5 is for casuals in that sense then. I prefer to play bf5 to apex, because even though teams are usually stacked in bf5, its 32 players on a team so a couple noobs doesn't ruin the whole team, and it doesn't affect my k/d as much. Again I don't have to deal with people flaming or saying obscene and derogatory things on the mic in bfv. It never happens.
The problem with bfv is no team balance. And that is the community's fault not EA. Because people tried to implement one in BC2. But admins were getting harassed over it so they scrapped it while in beta. Its just this selfish generation and the times we live in that don't really want fair play. Its the reason titanfall 2 is not popular but apex is.
