Been playing this game since launch, with over 3,000 hours played. Skill capped at slightly above average, stuck around .7 kdr and 280 damage average. Play solo pubs and game has consistently been getting sweatier. Now, with whatever was done in Season 18 it is completely unplayable for me. Very sad that golden cohort and elder players are getting shafted. I really want to keep playing, but going against mutliple 20 bomb predator squads in nearly every match, while getting low level inexperienced teammates just ruins it for me. Hope EA / Respawn find whatever they're searching for, but it obviously has nothing to do with players like me. BTW... spent nearly $1,000 in the game over the years. So good job folks, that money train is switching tracks to some other game. Good luck with your super secret matchmaking algorithems, they sure are gud...

As a 20-bomb sweaty player myself, I have the same experience. There's no casual mode. Haven't played even half as much this season and for damn sure stopped spending money.

(Sorry this is a bit of a rage vent post but I am really disappointed with Respawns take on ranked)I just recently started to play this game again after a long break. After my placement matches, I ended up in Bronze 1 which is supposed to be a low elo rank. I have now played about 10 matches and all my matches has been approximately like "old rank system" high platinum in terms of skill level of teammates and opponents. Ive started to check EVERY players name of the enemy squad that killed me on Apex tracker and also my teammates if its possible and they are almost always gold to platinum.So based on this, and also based on Respawns own words about MM based on a hidden MMR and not your current rank, we can assume that my hidden MMR is somewhere between the average gold and platinum player. But now lets just stop and think what implications this have on the competitive integrity of this game. This means that my way through bronze will be objectively harder than for another given bronze1 player who is much worse than me and therefore has a hidden MMR around the average bronze players MMR. Or in other words; our two journeys through bronze will he OBJECTIVLY no the same but SUBJECTILY the same.... Am I the only one who is baffled how stupid and childish this system is? Its like some daycare center teacher designed it for children that cant handle fair competition. Imagine if this was real sports; its like designing a world cup like this: for Argentina, who is the reigning world champions in soccer, to advance through the group stage, they must beat every team with at least a 3 goals margin because they are good, whereas Lichtenstein that sucks will advance even if they draw all matches..... Come on Respawn.What they SHOULD have done if they weren't so childish game designers, they should match the ranked matches on a hidden MMR just like now, but compensate for the difference between your current rank and your actual MMR which you are being matched based on. So for instance, If I am bronze 1 but has a hidden MMR of average gold2 and therefore mostly play against players currently in Gold2 give or take, then I should get a huge LP reduction if I do badly and a huge LP bonus if I do good. If the rank/MMR difference is smaller, like a player who is Gold2 but plays on a platinum4 MMR, he might only get a small reduction and bonus. And the same way around; if you happen to be Gold1, but plays very badly and loses alot of hidden MMR, much faster than you lose rank and therefore start to play against much worse players, you should ofc get a huge LP loss if you keep losing and a smaller LP gain if you play good. The goal is to, AS QUICKLY AS POSSIBLE, match every players hidden MMR with their current rank. This is how all other serious games design their ranked, but Respawn must ofc be the special kid in the class.... Guess its back to Skyrim VR hrmmm

@MekaSquid The overall experience this season is a lot harder than previous seasons.It's weird that you're experiencing it as well : as the matchmaking buckets are tighter (from what respawn said in an article earlier this year), you should face opponents with a similar k/d, and less players with more than 1.My overall kd is 1.75, s17 was 2.8, my lobbies this season are a nightmare too.

They killed the game for me. I am stuck with predators and masters when I was barely able to get to the diamond the first seasons. Now its not even a game, its a job that I have to do because I cleared every battle pass since the start. Honestly, I hope they will fix it , if not I hope the game will die quickly to be freed from this.

There used to be a time where it was, but that was long ago. Honestly, apex is meant for people who dont work and have lots of free time to practice and get better (so kids basically) the game just isnt for us anymore, man. Its the hard truth we have to swallow and either deal with it or just move on from it

@ComicBookGuy2727 I consider myself average and my KDR has dropped to about 0.85 this season. I solo queue and that makes it infuriatingly difficult, but the amount of smurfs/cheats/sweats is at an all time high. It is gotten absolutely ridiculous!

I, too, am a dedicated player with over 1000 hours invested in this game, but I've recently made the decision to uninstall it. The current season’s matchmaking and ranking system has triggered a cascade of departures amongst my fellow players, causing a shared sentiment of frustration and disappointment. This week, I joined the ranks of those who have left, feeling disheartened by the new mechanics that seem to have eroded the game’s inherent entertainment value, rendering it increasingly time-consuming and devoid of genuine competitive spirit.

It’s alarming to witness a game that once championed accessibility and enjoyment transform into a platform that seems to prioritize score accumulation over player experience. Many of us find ourselves investing extensive hours with little to no advancement in points, making progression an arduous task. If the prevailing mechanisms persist, my friends and I foresee no return to Apex, expressing a collective wish for a pivotal change in the game’s direction.

While they might have made a lot of money, if you are a CEO that is truly honest with yourself about the Health of The Gaming Industry vs Cheating, you should not be believing that the current state is great success.

Sure, everyone can argue that there's always going to be a certain level of issues and acceptable risks, known as the cheaters, but you have to honestly look at the gaming world and see, from the Gaming World's perspectives this is not success.

I do not know any of the EA executives running this company, or what their cares or worries are, when it comes to this game.

It's not just solo pubs. ~1300 hours on record, play with 2 friends and we've been playing about once a week since launch. We're constantly playing in lobbies filled with pred and diamond players despite not being their level, neither overall or current season. Doesn't help that many of them now are controller players and we're a 3-stack of old mouse and keyboard players which as we know is a disadvantage in this game.
Feel like I'm being pushed out of this game for being better than average and not playing controller which suggest to me that the focus is on making the experience great for new players (i.e. bad players) and keep getting new customers whilst simply hoping that the older ones don't leave.

@AnyBrainsYou don't need to fight again "Building a healthy communities" They litteraly don't care and proved it on previous season and current season, I am a solo player from the start of the game, being diamond and master a lot of time (Highest kill is 28 and damage is 5600). I've uninstall this game today cause of the bad mmr, i'm currently in silver and facing only predator and master (Yes i've being master multiple time but well i'm silver, i litteraly don't want to play agains top 1% player while i am in a low elo, if it's in diamond/master rank i wouldn't complain, that normal)
It's litteraly unplayable for me cause i have always 2 bot with me again pro player 🙂 and even if i do a good game i'll don't win a lot of point....
The game gonna just die and that all, since season 12 they really fuckedup the matchmaking
Also people don't come with the "yOuR aRe MaStER why you complaining" nah boi, i'm master in a silver lobby and didn't play for months, silver is silver. I shouldn't play with some master/pred player here
Right now i'm litteraly STUCK in silver and always leave the game after 3 game full tilted cause of the lobby and my mate being some news player/bot, sorry i'm not aceu/faide who can solo some pred squad
Even in Pub my lobby is the same. where is the fun?!
It's always in Hardmode, you can't even chill anymore in apex, even if i stop for month my mmr is still the same and i'll face only top player...
And no i don't have the time to tryhard like a streamer or a pred. I play for fun and doesn't want to play 500h in one season only to pleasure apex dev with their bad mmr
