There is currently skill based matchmaking in the game.

My problem with the matchmaking is, is that once you are just above average, they will match you up with the best players out there. Simply because there are way more casual players than there are sweaty TTVs.

Although they have confirmed the system tries to match premade squads against premade squads, it is something very clearly visible. Fighting a premade squad is the worst, as they have superior communication and coordination, something that you almost never achieve with randoms.

I rather have the current SBMM than having to wait much much longer in queue for a "narrower" sbmm, i.e a lobby full of players close to my skill. What people dont realize is that such narrow sbmm would feel super sweaty. I have 2+ k/d and if I was in a lobby with 59 other 2+ k/d, well that would basically be a diamond 2-predator ranked match. I don't want that for my casual games; that what we have ranked mode for!

The biggest problem with the current SBMM is that it allows 3-man full premade predator squads to play in the same lobbies as solo players who play with other randoms. I can 1v1 a predator and win but there is no way a squad of me and two low-to-mid levels with max a 2k dmg badge can win against such a squad... They will pub stomp everyone in their path and win that match.
