The game is unplayable. I didn’t play Apex for two seasons because it was unplayable back then, but I came back about three weeks before the new season. Everything was fine—I was in both weak and str...
Rest - very playable. I as all time "hardstuck Diamond" always had a field day in ranked games below Plat 4, most of time get at least 2-3 kills / 5-6 KP in pub games, in many cases even more than that.
Only thing that changed over past 20+ seasons: 1. more nubs got higher ranks diluting Plat+ lobbies with more inadequate level players than there already were 2. matchmaking system that feeds lower level players to Preds and Masters 3. hackers - total number of them 4. hackers appearing now already in high gold, for sure Plat lobbies. It still takes me just a few days or even just 1 day to go from Silver 2 to Plat 4 and then it took me 2-3 weeks to get out of Plat while soloqing in EMEA...now I can't get out of Plat because every game has hacker squad in them while I get bots 99% of a time on my team that don't even try to teamwork and ratting now is impossible as wallhacking / radar using teams just find you instantly unless in one of those 1 in 10 games where you happen to be on the other side of the map so they don't bother, they kill you in later rings where you still get negatives for ratting. And I can straight up tell when there is this 1 in now like maybe 30-50 games where there are no hackers = more often than not I either win that game or I am top 3 for sure with fighting chance for a win
That's about it.
Scoping in... players that can loot yet kill you... nah... you are probably then one of those casuals with very low skill set (that matches you input of trying to be better).
p.s. plus don't forget if you MnK - Apex since invention of cross-play has given advantage in close fights to controller players (there was even some research done regarding that which concluded something like MnK player on average getting 0.8 kills from each fight while controller 1.2 or there about) => if you take 1v1 and you lose but say enemy had left <50 health, that might be just that = your aim being not ideal / bad decision making vs controller player that is able to spray and pray and be saved by aim assist in such cases landing that extra 2-3 bullets. If fights are lost like you do 50 and they do 200... your skill issue, that bad you can lose only to hackers.
I don't think / know such option, as far as I know Apex shows you "all games" under current season and only ranked under "ranked" section. I guess I will have to do manual work but here it goes :)
As you can see in ranked I manage to get top 5 26% of a time vs 31 % in pubs (without much effort vs really trying in ranked most of the time).
My KD more than doubles vs ranked = 0.61 vs 1,33.
My Win rate also is 25% higher from 4% in ranked vs 5,3% in pubs yet I am quite sure that this ranked win rate is boosted by Silver / Gold games I played and as said in many cases win vs close to 0% win rate starting from Plat 3+. Basically average is like 8% win rate in Gold or lower vs 0% in Plat3 or higher :)
You are welcome and thanks for asking, it was interesting to spend 5 min compiling this post and data :) realized that I did play quite a few pubs to grind out battle pass after all, felt much less than 131 games to be fair...on the other hand one ranked game usually takes at least 10 min vs pubs that might end after 1-2 min.
Thanks. I pretty much expected someone with NPD to pop in and start with "skill issue." Yes, I don’t play Ranked—I’m not interested. The last time I played was 15 seasons ago. So when I read Gold, Diamond, or similar ranks, they mean nothing to me. I won’t go into detail about why I don’t play, but it’s not just one or two reasons.
Here are my statistics: Season 26—after not playing for two seasons, I returned three weeks before the new season and enjoyed the game. My team varied between weak, average, and strong, regardless of the previous match (at least that’s how it seemed). I could use optics and zoom. All of my Season 26 statistics are based on the R301 combined with the M600 Spitfire.
Now, Season 27—my team is always weak, and I can’t zoom because I die while zooming. So all of my Season 27 statistics are based on the Wingman and Mozambique. I can’t play effectively with other weapons. And again, why is there such a big difference—three weeks before the new season compared to three weeks into the new season?
Also, let’s not forget the newly “improved” sound this season. It’s pretty much a paranoia-inducing experience—voices in your head. Now you just need to use your triple Diamond skills to guess where the enemy is…
If it's a "skill issue" then the game shouldn't put him in the lobby where everyone kills him in an instant. Let's be honest, SBMM is totally broken and that's the biggest problem.
Agreed - there is many issues going on with Apex at the moment. But what has made the game "unplayable" for casuals is clearly without a doubt the matchmaking.
How can it be a skill issue when silver players are facing preds and master every single match without even a break for mental health. Even fortnite after you get destroyed by players clearly far above your skill bracket... will lower you down and put you against players of equal skill before throwing you back to the wolves.
The difference - Apex leaves you with the wolves permanently, and Respawn doesn't know what "players of equal skill" means. There is nothing anyone can say to debunk that one. : )
Please keep in mind that if you are casual, I assume you are not playing ranked.
Second - even this crazy bad matchmaking rarely puts silver players into Diamond+ lobbies, I have seen a few games where Gold players get into same lobby as current Master / Preds but that's about it while being on board of opinion that Preds/Masters shouldn't face even low level Diamond or below even more so = skill gap is just too big.
Finally it is known that many people by boosts, profiles, exploit game to gain badges, many seasons (stopped counting at this point) had free to take Masters (you could rat to Pred even)...so I would say you are not facing actual Masters rather players that was free to take masters / rocking some badges people pay attention to but reality is you are like Silver or below and they are like low level Plat that still feels like mission impossible to you.
You can post some screenshots of those Masters you are dying to and I will gladly decode them so you don't panic too much.
All I can say I am hardstuck Diamond but I have seen close to 0 legit Masters that I can't compete vs. Legit Masters I can take 50/50 on any day of the week. Problem is most Masters hack and you can't beat software.
Not sure how system works for lower skill level players...maybe game just can't compensate enough?
Plus for me it is hard to understand lower skill than Gold (not bragging just saying) - I came into the game and instantly went Plat...Gold and below for me always has been something like: - Gold = have at least some sort of skill usually some aim but close to 0 gamesense / willingness to follow what is going on rather just point and shoot - Silver and below = they just all around bad, like to an extent where I can wiff badly and still kill them moments later / do 1v3 even
As said in some of the other discussions - in pubs I pretty much always am on the right side of the meter, almost never even past midpoint I guess just because I play the game the right way, don't drop fragment with 10 teams, have some level of skill so game meter at least does not put me / I can compensate for my teammates so that our squad always is on the top end.
Seeing posts like this or alike I would assume that at some point either game puts such players with players like me yet that still make 0 guarantees that they will not be dunked on e.g. they die, I clutch the same fight = my experience and theirs are totally different from the same game and same lobby.
But these are all just assumptions and my experience.
