Unrealistic Matchmaking

I feel bad for new players I have a 0.62KD I’m in lobbies with diamonds, masters, and apex predators and I can’t beat them to save my life so how can new players in my lobbies learn this game if that’s who there up against I have lost to lvl 19 and lower players and I say good job to them. But then they get destroyed by a third party a second later and that team thinks there so good they tea bag the new team. I Just started last season but I am super frustrated... cant even Kill someone first Team I see I die. How am i supposed to get better if I cant get the chance to...there are only smurfs of Master/preds or Master/preds. Nearly every second one who kills me gets reported for smurfing. I Love this game but I am going to quit it...

    @cosico sad to see but i really get it i have been playing for 3 years and i'm not as good as i used to be... anyway i'm also matched against preds and master no chance of winning what so ever! I feel really bad for you its just sad to see ppl quitting because the mm sucks even though the game has great machanics. I just had a trio round with some guy i met in apex a while ago im lvl 500 he is lvl 90 we got matched with a lvl 40 .... 30 seconds later we got 1 v 3 d by a double masters with 20000 kills. (We quit after the game)

    @cosico Getting melted in milliseconds over and over again is a horrible experience for new players. That's where I was when I started in Season 8 and it hasn't gotten that much better, TBH. SBMM in Apex is complete & utter trash.

    Getting melted in a millisecond is frustrating for everyone, I try to play with my 10 year old and it is almost impossible.  Make a new account to play with him and after three games we are stacked in with masters again.  I just feel they are doing their best to get their top tier players in lobbies and the bottom middle of the road players are just getting dumped on consistently.

    For whatever reason - matchmaking things its "fair" to give you two noob players and pit you against diamond+ players. That's not "skill based matchmaking", that's "hey, go babysit some noobs while we derank you for an unfair reason".

    Stop it.

    Don't think for a second that it isn't intentional. 

    If they don't feed low level and new players to the higher skill players and streamers, they have less free content created and have to pour more money into their marketing budget. 

    SBMM does not actually exist. They use an engagement optimized matchmaking system, designed by psychologists and sociologists to maximize player engagement. 

    They stack your lobbies so you win and lose in a particular way that keeps you juuuust happy enough to keep playing. 

    Welcome to Apex Legends, the spawn of EA games. 

    This is what they do, and this is why they've made billions on this game. 

    They're never going to change it.

    @ShidWidley69420 Matchmaking is designed to keep people playing, that's not even a secrete. Players just wish it was more fair and fun, not brutal and unfair. Like why are preds even allowed to drop down into lower ranks, and why are people below level 100, who's clearly smurphing, allowed into ranked matches when smurphing is a bannable offense.

    I guess it all just boils down to EA wanting money.

    Thank you! Yes absolutely Respawn/EA use EOMM. Every comment and complaint on this forum all points directly to EOMM. Respawn lies about it. Have some shred of decency and at least stop deceiving your player base.

    @NickBeam27they dont lie about it, its just the news sites that always publish the same * so ppl actually think its SBMM.
    They say : "Compete against similarly skilled Opponents", not that your mates are similar skilled ...
    But dont post any links to the actual EA EOMM patent ... those posts will be likely deleted from this forum ...
    You ask yourself the question : Why does Apex need a hidden MMR value and doesnt release any information of how it works ?

    And the best of all, they do such a lousy job they cannot even fill all the teams even when there is hundreds of players in the queue.
    Which is a result of their changes after season 6/7 (Crossplay, Steamplay ect.)
