In Titanfall 2, it's near instant, although it does have a slight windup, and the alternate reality shows nothing of the live reality. It also does not have a trail, rendering both immune and completely invisible for a few seconds, but also they lose their intel and work with what they last saw, which normally has changed when they return.
They did have the ability to recast to return prematurely.
Phasing into another user would instakill them, but was insanely hard to do, as people are always on the move. 90% of successes are against idle/afk peeps.
Phasing into a titan killed the phaser. I've done that many times, mostly on accident.
Pathfinder's grapple is trash compared to the grapple of Titanfall 2. The range feels like 1/5th range. No more than 4/7ths range. Definitely less than half range.
And grapples got 2 charges, whereas pathfinder only has 1.
Anywho, back to phases:
Wraith:
Threat vision, trail, immunity, long wind up, door positions affect her while phased, cannot pass through hitboxes.
Phaser:
Loses all vision of live reality, doors don't exist or are all open even if closed in live reality, no trail / completely invisible, immunity, could kill by returning inside an enemy, could kill themself by phasing into a closed door or titan, pass through hitboxes and either kills or gets killed by it upon return if returning inside a hitbox. Short wind up, but still had a wind up.

I have no idea how you're trying to balance one game by comparing it to another game.
In Titanfall 2, you just respawn. Its a Team v Team game. It's super fast-paced. You can afford to have someone just, disappear, because it doesn't prevent a whole squad's guaranteed elemination, or a free heal far away. One guy disappears, you wall run into 5 other guys.
Then why not give Ash a titan? She had one in TF2.

@cnsnntIn Apex Legends, you just respawn. At least that's every single new mode and mixtape. Plus, as long as you have one ally remaining, preferably with a support on the team, you can be revived as many times as there are respawn beacons. At endgame, best with Crypto who can instantly use respawns with his drone. Stockpile MRBs and your team will be respawned as many times as needed to win, assuming the enemy is just that good or are hackers, and crypto found the perfect place to hide and drone wasn't ever sniped.
I've used 7 respawn beacons in a single life as crypto before. On Olympus.
Before evo upgrades was a thing.
Back when you could get red while actively having a white shield just by looting it from a deathbox.
