Wall Hacking in ranked? Really?

Just played a match (I play on PS5) and I’m Gold IV and I had ran a good distance and was near no one to my knowledge. No foot steps no one following nothing. I crafted my teammates banner and started booking it and randomly heard one players footstep so I used Vantage tactical and dipped thinking only way I’m caught is if it’s a recon or skirmisher to find me giving no damage was done. So how does s Maggie who’s well behind me for many seconds jump off a side completely and lock on me instantly in a tunnel? Make it make sense. 
P.S.  I know Devs won’t do anything but still happen to anyone else?
