I disagree. As someone who also loves both the G7 and the Hemlock I can say there is quite a lot of value in Snipers. Especially the Charge Rifle and the Triple Take. Granted it'll depend on your play style, but the Snipers still hold their own against the assault rifles.
I think the snipers are currently in an underdog spot.
Never underestimate someone that uses the snipers frequently.
The G7 and hemlock are great but when you are out their effective range a longbow will make sure you regret that you fired the first shot.
