Vantage Perk ideas & thoughts.
VANTAGE
I’m a pretty good shot however I believe sniping requires a lot of skill. Vantage is a champion that feels like she is missing a lot, there’s a joke in there.. somewhere. Since her whole kit is based around the idea of sniping, having a sniper on your team sounds cool but often feels like a setback. You may get a good Vantage teammate from time to time but most likely you will be with someone that is struggling to contribute. There are a number of things to consider when using Vantage such as setting yourself up in a location to maximize your ultimate’s ability, the timing, the viewpoint of the fight, rushing in to help your team etc... I think Vantage needs some changes to her kit so she can live up to her name. Most of what I mention below are ideas for perks but they can be taken apart and applied in different ways to maybe be a rework for her. Please let me know what are some of your thoughts on these perks and feel free to contribute some thoughts.
PERK IDEAS
Echo Echo Echo: Gain a triple jump
(Vantage now has a triple jump with her tactical. Each jump is half the distance of the last. Can change direction completely with each jump. Initial jump is marked by Echo then the consecutive jumps are wherever you look and press the tactical again.)
Expert Markswoman: Tag effect applied on all snipers.
(When landing a shot with any sniper, tag effect is now applied. Bonus damaged to tagged victims are reduced slightly.)
Arms Specialist: Faster reloads with all snipers and pistols.
(Seriously fast reloads with all sniper rifles and pistols. Gains stack of sniper and pistol rounds. Hip fire accuracy with snipers increased by 20 percent. If sniping is really your main thing you could effectively have 2 snipers and 1 alternate gun or go all 3 snipers, combining this with Expert Markswoman could really be interesting.)
A few of my favorite things: Ultimate now has unique rounds.
(Unique bullet types are as followed then repeated. Scented, Slow, Strong, each type will get two rounds. Alternative idea for round types would be Scented, Climber, Slow, Poison, Heal, Strong.)
Scented round: Targets hit now leave a ghost like trail even after tag effect runs out. Trail duration is 20 seconds. Does not give bonus damage after initial tag effect runs out.)
Climber: Target now unable to climb for 20 seconds.
Slow: As implied, target movement speed is now slowed by 25 percent.
Poison: On hit, victim’s health decay over time. Amount to be determined. Or perhaps they are unable to use specifically large heals for a short period, maybe 20 seconds.
Heal: Heals teammates for 50 health. Sounds like a lot but could definitely be tricky to do especially under pressure and within certain situations. Can help teammates push. Hitting an opponent with this round will do half damage.
Strong: Strongest round does double damage and can penetrate walls of buildings, not applied to terrain or rocks etc.
Forever It: Tag effect lasts longer.
(Tag effect duration is now greatly increase to 45 seconds from what I think was just 10 seconds. This is much needed because usually the time it takes to get to the opponent even with echo, you don’t have the chance to land a properly aimed shot. There will be an added effect of when landing a hit, this perk will then highlight teammates of that target for 20 seconds. This highlighting effect will help determine who to cut off and if your team should just focus fire the enemy tagged for the bonus damage.
Current Perks for Vantage:
The current perks for vantage seem so much of a let down if I’m being honest. The access to control rings and survey beacons are cool but should probably be built-in to her kit. Most people are either too scared to use those tools because of getting attacked or they no longer have access to that side of the map. Her ultimate gaining extra bullets when using ultimate accel is kind of cool but also really uncommon that you get an ultimate accel. The improved tactical is seriously unnoticeable. I tested this perk in the range and found it a short slide distance more and that’s if you were sliding and bumped into a rock too early. It could have been double the length and I would have thought okay great. Maybe even double the speed so it would make hard to keep tabs on her and she’d be more of a threat. She could effectively snipe and then relocate before the opponent sees her, so on and repeat. The refresh on tactical sounds like a good idea but again it’s like her kit isn’t working well with this. The Tag effect is only like 10 seconds and even if you landed a shot you might be too far for echo. Idk.. just not sure about Vantage right now.
