Warning: 501 Apex Packs - 0 Heirloom Shards

I opened 501 apex packs yesterday (in one sitting - 100% positive 501 packs) with the sole purpose of getting an heirloom. Surprise, surprise, no heirloom shards. I was dumbfounded and contacted support via chat. Support guy was very nice, but clearly couldn't do anything to address the (expensive) issue.

The biggest takeaway from the support chat was that the support rep freely admitted the following:

"I have just consulted with the concern team regarding your issue. Please first of all, accept my apology for the inconvenience caused. I would like to inform you that there are some technical difficulties going on server and there are many players facing the same issue." 

What the what?

Question 1: Why in the world are apex packs still being sold or allowed to be opened if this is a known issue "many players are facing"?

Question 2: Anyone have a similar issue?

Given what the support rep clearly stated, just a warning to anyone thinking about trying to get an heirloom - it is not "technically" possible at this time. I can attest to it not being possible with 100% certainty. 

Haven't gotten a response from Apex, but if this topic gets any replies and people have interest, I will keep the post updated.

OMG! I was just told by 2 separate support reps that every single post I have ever read regarding the chances of getting an heirloom are wrong. They both made it very clear that you are not guaranteed heirloom shards if you open 500 packs. I am in a state of shock. 

Has the entire APEX community been operating under false assumptions that 1 in 500 chance does not mean what all these websites (including EA's website) says that it means? That if you open 500 packs, you may not get heirloom shards as clearly stated here:

If you think I am exaggerating the above, I have the support chat transcripts to prove it.

I simply couldn't believe what support was telling me, so I contacted them for a 3rd time. Not even joking when I say this, but the support reps recommended solution, after opening 501 Apex packs with the sole purpose of getting an heirloom was to - wait for it - "Open more Apex Packs". I kid you not.

My anger over this issue immediately disappeared based on the belly-aching laughter this recommended solution caused. Sheesh - what universe are we in?

    @xXStatelessXx It pisses me off that new people get heirlooms or people who haven't played the game as long as us get heirlooms. It doesn't make sense that we are a huge part of the player/fanbase and are one of the causes apex blew up as a BR. I have a friend who got an heirloom even though I played longer than him and am a WAY higher level than him but somehow he luckily got the heirloom.

    i went with the boxing gloves but pathfinder is not my main lmao so i hardly get to see them

    @DreNH17 Based on the number of similar posts to yours, you think LUCK was what got your friend an heirloom before you?? LOL. This whole post is dedicated to exposing that apparently LUCK has no correlation to getting an heirloom. It is certainly a flawed (if not rigged) system. 501 packs - no heirloom even though it is guaranteed upon opening 500 packs. That alone warrants an explanation to the entire community. 

    Countless stories and you tubes showing <level 10 players getting one. Whether by technical issue or by design, it is becoming increasingly clear that something is very wrong with how heirlooms are obtained by players. Only difference now is that there is irrefutable proof starting to emerge.

    @xXStatelessXx I didnt say I entirely think it was based off of luck and obviously this post is to eradicate the factor of luck when it comes to heirlooms, I was just saying that it's crazy how I put more hours and played more into apex then him especially since he's a rager and he likes to blame teammates for things

    @DreNH17 Respawn says its a luck base system, but to be honest, its not that hard to "control" the luck without telling people.

    @DreNH17 I wasn't trying to throw shade on your comment. I totally agree and get where you are coming from.

    In no universe would this be likely, but eventually when EA/Apex contacts me about how to resolve this issue, I am literally going to push them to gift heirlooms to everyone who positively supports this post. Those players that have been loyal to the game, yet have been marginalized by its operators. Very, very long shot for sure, but I am going to push for it none the less.

    @xXStatelessXx Oh no I understand where your coming from, sometimes I get defended really quick cause some people on these forums just throw shade for no reason, so sorry if I came out that way to you
