I main Wattson, I like these ideas.
Nothing frustrates me more than getting pushed by an enemy team only to lose because my pylon healed them. All of Wattson's anti-team mechanics are horrible. In a video the devs specifically said they didn't want anti-team mechanics so Caustics gas doesn't damage teammates and doesn't slow them. But Wattson's pylon is entirely anti-team. Destroying freindly throwables and healing enemies.
An idea I had is making the pylon mobile, it stays on Wattson's back. This way she fits in better with the more open map style of Olympus and becomes less sit and hide. More move and defend an area. The radius on this pylon would be much smaller only big enough to cover Wattson and a teammate standing right next to her.
Also, yes the fences absolutley need some kind of work. The are destroyed way too easily, 1 grenade or 2 bullets. The fences have no real effect on enemies, the stun effect is basically non existent and 5 extra damage, is still nothing.
When playing enemies with more than 5 brain cells, Wattson's kit is very underwhelming, especially in a more moving based map like Olympus.
Someone is probably gonna say, "BuT sHe'S oP wHeN pRo'S uSe HeR". 99% of players are not pros. How a character is used professionally is not indicitive of their balance. Overwatch catered game balance to pro players, and the game became very unfun and casual players quit playing. 99% of revenue comes from casual players, losing them will kill the game.
Whenever I play Apex, I almost never see a Wattson, unless I am Wattson. I have played many games, her pick rate is extremely low. instead of nerfing wraith and pathfinder, buff other characters and not just a few, all of them. Mirage and Bloodhound continue to get buffed when they don't need it, while Crypto and Wattson are drowning. I think they both need a rework to make them fit in better and make them more fun to play. The community is the only reason the developers have a job, they should be listening to the community and the community wants, not doing whatever tthe devs want to the game as they see fit based on their own opinions.
