Wattson Buff/Rework suggestions?
Another season and still nothing new with Wattson. It's kinda sad to see a Legend that once dominated the meta be at the bottom of every tier list. Respawn pls show some love for Wattson
Straight up buff suggestions first:
Tactical:
- More tactical charges, 4 charges -
-> 5 charges. Self explanatory, being able to carry more nodes at any time. - More nodes placed at any time, 12 nodes
--> 14 nodes. Self explanatory. - Shorter cooldown, 30 seconds
--> 25 seconds. Also self explanatory - More damage, longer slowdown? i dont know, i doubt these changes are going to make Wattson viable again, better ideas below
Reworks:
Tactical:
- Fences are now poles instead of nodes; can block doors.
I think this change is good enough on its own to boost her pick rate. Caustic and Rampart can both block doors, why not Wattson? Blocking double doors would require placing 2 nodes as the hitbox would be very thin. It would still require to shoot at the bottom of the node to destroy the fence.
Ultimate:
- Pylon is now active on Wattson's back, not placeable.
This might sound extremely stupid, overpowered, and/or both. But hear me out: it would be much more fun to play Wattson than it is now. Placing a Pylon kinda locks Wattson down in a very specific location in order to be played effectively, and yes I get it, she's a defensive legend, that's how she's supposed to be played, but fences are near useless and camping isn't really an option in the current meta.
How to balance it:
- Pylon now lasts half as long on Wattson's back than when it's placed.
- Cracking Wattson's armor destroys the ultimate's effects.
- Armor regeneration is reduced.
- Wattson emits a distinct noise/visual effect when Pylon is active. The Pylon is on Wattson's model already
I feel this change would create a very interesting dynamic for a defensive/offensive hybrid role. Imagine having to cross an open field and popping an ult to get across without getting pelted by grenades, and your squad playing protect the Wattson, because cracking the armor would stop the ultimate. Counters Fuse and Seer's stupid op tactical nicely. Instead of something like Rampart's ultimate, it would act more like Bloodhound's, in the sense that it's a self buff and not something placeable.
I'm not suggesting all these buffs/reworks to take place at once, just any combination of them. Is this idea extremely stupid? Probably. Please discuss below and post your own ideas
