Well, Season 6 patch notes and Ranked blog are out. Not a single mention of smurfs at all. Like, zero mention at all of how much they mess with us in the lower tiers. I guess since the "new" accounts make it look like more people are playing the game, it's not worth addressing?
So let me get this right, you're complaining about smurfing yet you're in very low tier ranks?
If you are struggling to progress in ranked, you are in the correct tier you was supposed to be in. There are many factors that appear to this, new accounts, helping a friend rank up, new console etc.If you are struggling, then it is not smurfing that is the issue, it is your aim.
Nope, you didn't get it right at all. I'm complaining that it's no fun to fight smurfs in practically every match in low tiers like silver and gold. I'm not struggling to rank up or worried about ranking up in any way. I'm not bothered about whether I'm in one tier or another, so long as the one I'm in gives me matches against people of relatively equal skill, give or take a bit. This is 100% about the frustration and lack of enjoyment from playing in Ranked when it's infested by pathetic smurfs.
Season 6, no mention of smurfs in any of the patch notes, the ranked blog, or anywhere else. And they're already back in full force, in Ranked, ruining matches. Saw a level 10 with 100+ kills, saw some people with laser aim or a literal aim-bot, who can tell at this point.
Still not a single word from Respawn about it either. The ranked blog said they felt Ranked was working great and "as-intended" so I assume they have no problem with smurfs ruining Ranked for us? Bummer!
@BrunoPuntzJonezBelieve it or not the lower level new accounts for what ever reason seem to have a much better chance at hierlooms verse older accounts. We see loads of low low level legends rocking their hierlooms. My friend who was new to apex has gotten 3 at level 100. While i paid loads for only 2. So this may be a big reason why its done also if they can obtain same badges then whats some skins left behind if you get your fav hierloom.
Smurfing has really exploded the last few months. Because of this I barely play ranked so I have to start in bronze every time. I remember in season 2 and 3, the bronze rank was very easy (as it should be for someone that isn't new to the game). Now, it's almost impossible to find a bronze lobby without a top tier/predator in disguise.
Ranked, which should be the ultimate form of skillbased matchmaking, is now a place where the top 1% gets to fight the bottom 1%.
Chad Grenier's words about sbmm: "It's clearly good for the game. I know that we get backlash from certain key players who want to go pubstomp people, but for every person pubstomping, there's many victims that have the opposite experience, where they're getting smacked. We need skill-based matchmaking".
I understand your statement, mister developer, but now the pubstomping has shifted towards the lower ranks in your ranked system. As long as you allow smurfing, stomping (whether it be pubs or ranked) will ALWAYS exist.
